Yah, I think that's everyone oppion...The story is cute and interesting but the art can be lacking..... but i will say the art gets much better towards the end.
...All in all though it still my 2nd favorite manga (only hana kimi beats it out)...but hands down Hana yori dango is my favorite j drama...I laugh so hard when i watch it.
