The way Arakawa writes...Al will get back that poor, skinny thing waiting by the gate. Ed might not get rid of the automail, but probably. They also probably will not die as a direct consequence of the plot, although with the maltreatment they've put themselves through they will almost certainly die young. Of course, the plot could develop to require their deaths, but it certainly doesn't contain those elements just now. And probably won't. Arakawa definitely rates 'failing to save and thus losing someone' as a much worse thing to suffer than merely 'dying,' so why would she bother to kill off her heroes? |
