Pretty good is a good enough rating. I have improved and continue to do so, therefore "pretty good" will someday turn to amazing!! AND THEN I SHALL CONQUER THE WORLD!!! MUAHAHAA!! No, really. I'm going to be an artist (not necessarily a mangaka, but something artistic for sure!), so I may start posting things other than manga style at some point. Not that I have much other than that right now...

so umm,.... hey,...
i voted for pretty good,..
*hope you dont mind,...
but anyways,...
i like the first picture you posted,.. its really nice,...
the shading is good do,..
as for the others,..*my opinion only*
i think that the pic you said that it has long legs,.. well,... i think not,.. i think the legs are fine,.. but i think the hair is kinda too big,..or the dress is too short.......
and about the neopeys craze thing,..
the pet may have been cuter if you added more details to it,.. it would make it look edgy but cute,.. well,.. im not saying it isnt cute,... it is,... but it might have been cuter if you added the details,..
and the lizard pic? was that a lizard?...
i kinda liked it- cos i really dont like lizards or anything that looks like a lizard but if i did,... i would tell you that that pic was great!!!!
your first drawing is really good- id say,...
its my fave for your collection...!
yep!! that's the spirit!!! just dont conquer the world...lol...
when did you read your first manga?..
cos you sure have improved a lot.....
oh and by the way,.. the mangaka you drew was exceptional,... i wouldnt have ever thought about a drawing a mangaka!
well,.. good luck to you and,... more power!!!

Heheh... I drew the mangaka because I thought "What would be a unique fanart?" because I initially wanted to send it in and get it published in the back of the volumes but I never sent it ;_; I really don't know if it's a lizard... It might be a lizard... Some people have said it looks like a plushie.... I read my first manga like...... uh............. three or four years ago. The neopets thing was drawn even before that I think Her hair is kinda too big... It makes her head look elongated in the back like the skulls of that tribe that used to bind their kids' heads, the people that were referenced in the latest Indiana Jones movie 'cept not XD And it's not a dress, just a kinda fluttery shirt. Ahhhh more POWER!!!! RAAAH!!!! *starts glowing and screaming like the guys in DBZ (I highly dislike that show)* RAAAAH!!!!!! *hair starts to rise up and turn spiky* RAAAAAA- AGH!!! poff!!! ;o; *hair explodes into a smoking ball of frizz* .....coughcough..... NOT doing that again.... ugh, cinder tastes nasty.....

Well, they don't look too bad. You should concentrate on:

- Expressions, postures, anatomy
- Faces(they look better than mine)
- shading and inking the pictures, improves outlook drastically
- clothing
- detail!

Your pictures are still very good, I'd say. Better than mine, at least.

Wahahah... inking.... *cringe*

An inking brush is the scariest thing in the entire universe, no exaggeration. I'm starting to work on it, but I'm more focusing on improving my brush skills in general by working with watercolors at the moment. I have a brand new picture in the works (I already can name a gazillion things wrong with it that I probably won't end up fixing) but it's not completely done. The person's done, but I'm doing the entire background (an extremely simple background, but still) in hatch shading. *cry........* IT TAKES FOREVER. And details kind of bug me. I know I need more of them, but I don't really know what to do most of the time. The majority of manga artists put details in the clothing (my wrinkles in clothing frustration), the background (which I'm getting better at, but still find obnoxious, which is probably why most mangaka have their assistants do them), or with screentones (which I have absolutely no access to). I guess I'll start designing clothes... well-coordinated outfits can help form easily identifiable characters, which gets you half-way through character development (the two stages are visual and personality development, the key being to create two halves that easily match to form a whole character, while taking enough liberties to create interesting, unique combinations)

One of the next things I'll post is probably going to be a project I did for school, where we had to do a visual interpretation of a poem (essentially, a comic) It isn't a manga style in any way, shape, or form. Only the first four stanzas are done, and the art style is meant to match the style of the poem. The poem is "anyone lived in a pretty how town" by e.e. cummings. It also may not scan the best, since the entire thing was done in relatively light shades of colored pencil, but anyway, I won the contest for the best representation in the class I'll go find it now....

Before I post the images, here is the poem in its entirety:

anyone lived in a pretty how town
(with up so floating many bells down)
spring summer autumn winter
he sang his didn't he danced his did.

Women and men(both little and small)
cared for anyone not at all
they sowed their isn't they reaped their same
sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few
and down they forgot as up they grew
autumn winter spring summer)
that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf
she laughed his joy she cried his grief
bird by snow and stir by still
anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones
laughed their cryings and did their dance
(sleep wake hope and then)they
said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon
(and only the snow can begin to explain
how children are apt to forget to remember
with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess
(and noone stooped to kiss his face)
busy folk buried them side by side
little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep
and more by more they dream their sleep
noone and anyone earth by april
wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)
summer autumn winter spring
reaped their sowing and went their came
sun moon stars rain
