How is it not an RPG - as well why would spike tv list it as an rpg? Actually why is it always listed as an rpg game wherever you look for it? If we have to get technical then I'll just call it something like "storylike game" where it actually has a full complete plot with a purpose other than taking out thugs on the street, or running on some mission to shoot some in the head, or even more just to completly jab little squares into a certain position so they fit nicely.

| <_<; I'm surprised someone would think that Zelda is not an rpg. If it's not, what would it be then? I can't imagine what other genre or type it would be. Anywhow, I have never thought of the relationship of mangas to videogames. >_<; I've never based it off of that, although they do have games that are based off of mangas. (I can't think of a title right now though. >.<; ![]()

| So now Nintendo has to get technical So what if they state its not an rpg, its still an rpg based game in my world and I'm sure in alot of other worlds It still is everywhere else except for Nintendo edit: I wouldn't be surprised if they stated it to keep it from having any problems with other companies such as squarenix

She is somewhat right, Action Adventure games have always been called RPG by gamers simply because that is what we coined it to be. Who wants to say Action Adventure when you can just say RPG. They are usually called RPG based games, because the orginal idea of an action adventure game started with rpgs. An RPG isn't a video game, actually there is no such thing atm (unless dnd has created something that I don't know about) of an rpg game. An rpg game is a game that you play with sets of die (or dice) in which a group of people are set together with papers, pencils, legends, maps, etc, and they actions are created by the user, usually with a set of rolls. A GM otherwise known as Game Master controls the area, settings, monsters, and etc. of the game. He or she can pretty much controls the surrondings of your character as well what you run into. DND or otherwise known as Dungeon and Dragons is a large RPG game. You can buy sets of books online to specifications of how to set up worlds, characters, races, weapons, and etc. Games such as Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda, even Persona are labled as rpg based games or action adventure game, however they are not technically an rpg game. That is why Nintendo argues that it is not an rpg game. Edit: The closes thing to an actual rpg game would be FF 11 simply because you chose the class of your character, name, race and etc.

| i think Action adventure is when you attack the monster and the same time you can move freely... like Kingdom Hearts... while RPG is using push botton to attack and you can't move freely...like Final Fantasy..
