Default The Host!

I just finished the new book by Stephenie Meyers..."The Host". Has anyone else read it? Its obviously something really different from her "Twilight" series, but it just as good!

I read it, I really liked it. Ian was my favorite character.

I was afraid I wasn't going to find a thread for The Host!
I absolutely loved the book, it was so well written and very different from the twilight series. I wish I had read it before Twilight so I could say I discovered Stephenie under a more respectable title. Not to say the twilight series isn't respectable I loved those too - Ack! I'm babbling....
Anyway, it really was a great read, I want to buy it now so I can reread it. It was so fast-paced I couldn't put it down. I read it all in one day.
What did you think of the ending?

I honestly thought The Host had the most boring intro I'd ever read. Many times throughout the day, I was tempted to just throw the book down and pick up something else to read. But something kept me from it. Near the middle, there was more action, but the ending was what really caught my eye.

I'm still reading the intro and I'm struggling to keep reading it. -_-" I'll take your word for it though and continue until I get to some action.

I am about to get this book. Seriously going to get it after putting it off for like weeks. After reading this thread I'm less apprehensive about buying it. I hope that it is very different from Twilight as that series.......was a disappointment. <- KiraKira-Chan there's that word again.

Default The Host

the book was alright. though in some parts i had to really force myself to continue reading

have any of you ever read the series called "animorphs'? it's a huge series that's really old. but i noticed that the host is VERY similar to it. when i was reading it i was wondering the entire time if stephanie took the main idea from it. but she did add her own things to it so it was like taking an idea and kind of making it your own.

the host did not make me like stephanie more. in fact, i lost respect for her because of the similarities of her book and the animorphs.

I used to read the Animorphs until I couldn't find the books anymore. When I read the summary about the whole alien parasite thing in The Host I though about those parasite things in Animorphs. I haven't read the book yet, though.

Oh, I love that book! :3

For me, it's my favorite of Stephanie Meyer's.
It even beats the Twilight series. o.e

It was quite boring in some parts; I would set it
down just to do something else, but I would always
come back to read it (though sometimes grudgingly).

The ending... I loved it. <3333
Wanderer pissed me of sometimes, though. -.-;

I agree with you completely!!! The beginning was rather confusing and not really eye catching, but once it got to the middle..things started to get SPICY!!! I still love this book!!
