Many books have been made into movies by Hollywood producers, but how many of them really and truly enhanced or best amplify the book?
post your views on your favorites, haters, or even on books you wih to see made into movies!

In the end.......and I don't mean Linkin Park........nothing can beat an old fashion good reading of a book!

Harry Potter movies was like an insult to the books....my opinion....I think that's half the reason why I stop short of the fifth book and stopped completely from liking the books. The other half of the reason, is simply that I have read better books during the period in which it took the sixth book to come out.
Narnia rocks! Can't wait for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, which I so hope they are making.

Lets see, I like reading the novels becuase you can see the character in your own way. But I like the movie becuase you can see whats happening in a short amount of time minus the 1/2day + for reading the book. =3

I think that Lord of the Rings movies really were better than the books, but yeah i agree, i hate the harry potter movies ¬¬ i know the books get bigger and bigger but they just leave too many details out in the movies in my opinion ^^

Well since i dont like harry potter i might not be the best judge, but i think of all of the series you put as options the harry potter movies most contributed to the books popularity and im for anything that gets people to read.

I think the worst represantion of a book to movie faluire is Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, it lacked the books style.

Eragon movie insulted the book. As for lord of the Rings the movies were the best as well as the books. The Hitchhikers guide to the galxay still has me lost...i need another guide!
Any views on Twilight! Think it will do justice to the book.

Well, let's see, I've only seen two of the movies that you listed...

I don't like the Harry Potter movies. I only saw the first three and twenty minutes of the fourth. The first two were good, the third was meh, and the twenty minutes that I saw were just awful. They chopped the shit out of the book. (Granted, the book is over 700 pages long...) I'm not going to torture myself watching the fifth movie because OotP was my favorite book. (Plus, I heard they shortened Snape's Worst Memory into a thirty second blurb. WTF?! That's my favorite part of any book, ever!)

Now that my HP rant is out of the way...

I was very excited to see that Narnia was being made into a movie because "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" was one of my favorite books as a kid, and I always thought it would make a great movie. I was not disappointed. The movie was really good. My biggest problem with it was that the White Witch was a blonde, and I always pictured her to have black hair. XD I want to see Prince Caspian, but I think I should read the book first.

TL;DR version: I like books better.

Prince Caspian was quite good, but i'm sure in the book that Susan and/or only Peter don't go back to Narnia...?
