Actually, R.A. Salvatores books have been mentioned in the Wall Street Journal, Publishers Weekly, The Washington Post, and USA Today. To answer your question, yes this is about adventure novels, although I would class them as fantasy. Yes, there is magic in it, but I haven't found any stories involving time travel. If your looking for something about time travel I would recommend The Time Machine by H.G. Wells. If you would like to know more about the Forgotten Realms you might want to try checking out Wikipedia.org. You can find out all about it INCLUDING a list of Forgotten Realms novels. You could probably find all the adventure novels you want there. Happy Reading!

Hmm. Again, I have watched The Time Machine by H.G. Wells, but haven't read it. :(
Wow! The list is so complete! Thanks! I really appreciate it.
Happy readings to you too! (if you are currently reading a book. )

Thanks.. By the way, did you happen to notice on that list a series called the Cleric Quintet? It's another set of books by R.A. Salvatore I would recommend. I'm currently reading Magician by Raymond E. Feist. It's not a Forgotten Realms novel and it does not have time travel in it but, it does have travel between two worlds by means of magic called a 'Rift'. This sparks an invasion from the second world. It was first published in1982, however, the author has released a revised edition that has over 15,000 words of text that was never in the original. The book has a quote by the author saying "it is essentially the book I would have written had I the skills I possess today". I'm currently about halfway through rereading it for the fourth time.

REREAD? wow. You must be quite a reader, to finish those books you had previously recommend me and also reread a book that has over 15,000 words for the fourth time.
That's amazing. And here I have only read The Harry Potter series, Narnia, Eragon, and some Jacqueline Wilson's novels (Yes, I know I have the taste of kids' novels XD).

It's funny you should mention that. When I first bought Stone of Tears by Terry Goodkind I read all 1056 pages in a single night. Granted, It took me eight hours straight, I finished just before I had to go to shool and I slept through some of my classes the next day, but I still think it's an accomplishment. lol
As far as the kid's novels comment goes, I can't say anything. I have the whole Harry Potter series, I've heard such good things about Eragon that I plan on checking it out, and I found a collectors edition book that has every Narnia story ever written in it that I plan on getting at the first opportunity.
Is it just me or is there an overemphasis on 'growing up' and 'acting your age' in society. If there is something you like that others percieve as 'childish' (eg 'kid novels) should it matter to us so long as we enjoy them?

Yup! I agree with you on that matter.
But those kids' novels are really good! Well, it's really depends on your taste of books. But I especially like adventure-fantasy but simple story, not a story that's kinda hard to follow.

I thought of another set of books that you might like. As with Forgotten Realms there are several novels under the title of Shadowrun. They're sort of like future meets magic. The only problem is that it would take a miracle if you manage to find some of the older novels as some are no longer in print. They just released some newer ones that are really good. Born to Run by Stephen Kenson is excellent. Again, wikipedia.org can tell you anything you want to know about Shadowrun. However, There are several listings so I don't recommend doing what I did and confuse the books with the recently released game.lol. Enjoy.

I've checked wikipedia(dot)org for Shadowrun,
it seems that it was based on video games first (?) correct me if I'm wrong though.
But there's 75 Novels! So many! And even some are not available now.
Those novels must be quite rare to find!
But thanks anyway! I've got new knowledge about these kinds of novels now. Shadowrun has a very interesting plot. Thanks!

Actually, it started out as a pen and paper role playing game (like Dungeons and Dragons) in 1989, the first book was written in 1990, and the first game was released on the super nintendo in 1993. I just wish I had known about it when I actually HAD the Snes. lol.
I've got something else for you that you might like. Check out wikipedia.org about something called Dragonlance. It's a large set of novels in a fantasy setting similar to forgotten realms with elves, dwarves, wizards, monsters, etc., etc. There are 190 Dragonlance novels. The only problem is that since there are so many books deciding where to start can be quite daunting. I think the best place to start would be with the very first Dragonlance book Dragons of Autumn Twilight by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. Incidentally, you might want to give any book where you find those two collabortating a try. I've noticed that their books are among the best.
