Default The Three Musketeers - Best book ever?

Seriously, read it if you haven't. Once you get past the old dialect and start understanding the politics in France and England during the 1600's, it becomes one of the greatest books ever written.

I'm halfway through it, and it is truly exceptional. However, the greatest book, in my opinion, is The Count of Monte Cristo, by the same author. Alexandre Dumas is my favorite author-the master of suspense and the cliffhanger.

Lol. I read the HUGE original version (well, I think it was... 700 pages anyone? =.="). It was a last year though. I agree that it was a terrific story. My favorite part was near the beginning... when Artagan (is that how you spell it?) made enemies/"foes" of the three musketeers Athos, Aramis, and Pothos and when they met up to have their duel, it was funny when they knew each other and everyone made foes of Atagnan. Milady was a real meanie! She got what she deserved int he end... Anyways, the book was really great! I had some trouble with the wrods as well, but it's really a great story! Lol, I think it's as awesome as "Harry Potter"!

Best? No. One of the best, yes. A very excellent and intriguing classic.

I agree that Dumas is one of the greatest writers in the world!!! But then again, having read many novels by different authors, I would have to say that he's not the BEST, though, but that's just in my opinion.

Out of the Musketeer's story line. I think I prefer the Man in the iron mask.I actually cried in this one, I was very emotionally involved with it. Hard for me to do with a classic writer.
