Okay then. Who are your favorite characters wha are your least fav. My favorite badass was Zhao Yun styled Zhilong. Do you know what that means everytime the book intros a char they are like Liu Bei styled Xuande or Cao Cao styled Mengde what the hell is styled I don't get it.

Default Hmm

Hmm, not sure I can be of much help about the titles, if you're referring to how their names are pronounced or how it differs between the languages, perhaps this can be of help. Cao Cao (Mengde) - Romance of the Three Kingdoms Encyclopedia
I don't know why the styles would differ so widely but I have some small idea. Because there are different dialects and different written styles of Chinese, the names differ depending on where you are in China, and what language you are translating that name into. For example, I could be Zero Phoenix here. Elsewhere, it could be Xero Foenix, or Xeros Sphinxes, etc. I read an indepth article as to why their names and titles differ depending on the styles. It's probably somewhere on that site. My favs are Cao Cao and Ga Ning. I also like Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi, as well as Liu Bei. Dhon Zhuo is definitely my least fav.

The whole deal about the nmes I found out earlier is that people can later choose their own names. they have th name theyare born with and then when they become adults they can decide their own styled name. See, the problem was that I had misaken the defintion of styled. It was styled as in self styled. Anyway my copy of the book is broken into 4 smaller volumes. In the last volume all the original chars are dead and everything goes all to hell. What really caused that. All the offspring of Liu bei, Cao Cao, Cao Pi, and Sun Quan were all evil little ****s. What did you think about that. What really gets me about this book is how it ends sorry I am ranting.

Default If I Remember Correctly....

"In the last volume all the original chars are dead and everything goes all to hell. What really caused that. All the offspring of Liu bei, Cao Cao, Cao Pi, and Sun Quan were all evil little ****s. What did you think about that. What really gets me about this book is how it ends"

Well, if I recall correctly from my research concerning the era, a series of deaths happened either by natural causes (Cao Cao for instance) or illness (Zhuge Liang for example). Sun Jian was the first to die, in battle I believe it was, and his sons did the best they could but things were falling apart due to a lack of power and support. Cao Cao died around 62 or 64 and I believe Liu Bei died shortly thereafter. Whatever the order or cause, Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Jian all died. Unfortunately, they all died one after the other in a relatively short time span. To make matters worse, many of their most trusted advisors and allies died too. Zhuge Liang died, Sima Yi died, Zhang Fei I believed was killed in battle, and Sun Ce quickly met his end too. Wu, Wei, and Shu were all hit hard with loss after loss very quickly. And so we, or rather China was left with all these upstarts who were not as in touch with the people as their forefathers were. And there were also generals, and strategos who were not up to snuff with the likes of Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi. Simply put, everything did quite literally, fall apart.

The whole situation was bittersweet to me. I'm glad that each leader, however briefly, was able to attain something of their dream, their goal, their ideal. I was also quite pleased with the affect Cao Cao had on China's education and agriculture. However, after those three great men died, their respective empires began to crumble. A part of that is painful to me. To know that the great things these men built fell into decay, and that their cause was actually hurt by their own children! However, I like to think that during their lifetimes, Liu Bei, Sun Jian, and Cao Cao were able to attain a certain happiness even during their era. I like that thought and it satisfies me.

hmm, zhang fei , in one of the story of the three kingdoms, was told to be killed by his own subordinate, in a preparation during the war between Shu and Wu after the great general Guan Yu is captured and killed by Wu. The cause would be zhang's reckless attitude (aggravated by the dead of his sworn-brother) toward his subordinate, causing the tragedy.it was during his sleep, that his head was chopped of.if not i don't think that there would be anyone alive that time, can take zhang fei head in fair battle. i forgot which version of three kingdoms novel is that, but if that's the truth , i suppose all version will tell the same tale. The ladies that appeared in this tale are whom i respect.they can put their name between lines of name of legendary general and ruler though they are women.the exception for some.

Thays how it happened in my copy. However Zhang Fei was also portrayed as a violent drunk. He was cruel to his subordinate officers, the same way as Yunchang was with his subordinates. There two fates were very similar, however it was difficult to accept the two mighty warriors being killed by treachery. Even though Yide fell victim to his own vices it was still a bad way to go out.

Default Fact or Fiction?

"Thays how it happened in my copy. However Zhang Fei was also portrayed as a violent drunk. He was cruel to his subordinate officers, the same way as Yunchang was with his subordinates...."

An interesting situation, and one that often happens in works such as these. I never researched Zhang Fei in detail, but I do know that we have to take Romance of the Three Kingdoms with a grain of salt. It, and some other works labled Cao Cao as the villain, but I have read four different biographies of the Hero of Chaos and none of them paint such a picture of the mighty Cao Cao. In some of the bios he is benevolent, while in others he is a great man, but also a flawed man, but I've never read one in which Cao Cao is a villain.
