| Stephenie Meyer's okay. I do like Jane Austen, Darren Shan, Douglas Adams, JRR Tolkien, Eoin Colfer, C.S. Lewis, Lemony Snicket, Gail Carson Levine, Michael Ende, Tamara Pierce, and I've dabbled in Stephen King and Mary Higgins Clarke and many more but these are the only authors that come to mind and that I remember the names of. |

| Christopher Moore. The man is seriously funny. I mean 'Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal' is one of the most hilarious books I've ever read, and 'The Stupid Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror' I can't even begin to discribe, 'A Dirty Job' about a guy who become, in his own words, 'a Santa's helper of Death', 'Fluke, Or, I Know Why the Winged Whale Sings' about a whale researcher in Hawaii who sees a whale with 'Bite Me' written on it's tale, and 'Practical Demonkeeping'. I'll give you a little taste of 'The Stupidest Angel'... Christmas crept into Pine Cove like a creeping Christmas thing: dragging garland, ribbon, and sleigh bells, oozing eggnog, reeking of pine, and threatening festive doom like a cold sore under the mistletoe. And... In another Christmas story, Dale Pearson, evil developer, self-absorbed woman hater, and seemingly unredeemable curmudgeon, might be visited in the night by a series of ghosts who, by showing him bleak visions of Christmas future, past, and present, would bring about in him a change to generosity, kindness, and a general warmth toward his fellow man. But this is not that kind of Christmas story, so here, in not too many pages, someone is going to dispatch the miserable cocksucker with a shovel. That's the spirit of Christmas yet to come in these parts. Ho ho ho. Seriously, it's like he's channeling Douglas Adams from beyond the grave. |
