| "It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife." -opening sentence of "Pride and Prejudice". i'd have to say that my favorite love novel would be "Pride and Prejudice" by Jane Austen. I know that in the literary community it's always a favorite and probably some people don't like it...but for me...this book is just the best. i'm an "old romantic" anyway so the idea that love overcomes all is great. with mr. darcy getting past the idea that he'd be marrying a poor girl with no connections, and with elizabeth putting aside her prejudice ideas against mr. darcy, i think that they make a wonderful couple. but that's just my opinion... ![]()

| i love christian love novels. if you want to read some hilarious ones check out the boo series or my life as doormat (in three acts) by rene gutteridge. i also love novellas.(they are the best bargain because good christian fiction is hard to find and i go through books fast).i have to say i like shakespeare even though most are tragedies.

| The most touching love novel I've read so far is the "Dream of the Red Mansions" (a.k.a. The "Story of the Stone" or "Dream of the Red Chambers"). It's got a supernatural touch and it's a tragedy (I'm a big sucker for sad endings...), thus becoming my favorite. Aside from being a tragic love story, it also focuses on the decline of the feudal system in China during the Qing Dynasty. Plus, it has a depth that is beautifully wrought, intertwining reality and fantasies.

| By love novels, you mean 'Romance Novels' ches, ches? ![]() Because I've read a few. Okay maybe not a few, but a whole lot of romance novels. Yes, yes shame on me. ;P But, the best ones I've read would have to be Jennifer Crusie, Maryjanice Davidson, Suzanne Brockman, and some others that I don't remember. >_<;

| I've read quite a few romance novels in my lifetime... But I would have to say I like reading novels written by Teresa Medeiros. You may not know her but she has written some really fascinating books like: After Midnight The Vampire Who Loved Me(Sequel to After Midnight) Fairest of Them All The Bride and the Beast A Kiss to Remember One Night of Scandal(Sequel to A Kiss to Remember) Charming the Prince etc. She has written many more but they are all good .

All Others: Do they happen to write historical romance? Because I feel like I've read these authors' works before, and historical romance just pops into my mind when I read their names. Also, try Jennifer Crusie. The crazy awesome lady can write a really good comedic romance.

| Pride and Prejudice is considered the best love novel in the world. It is an absolute masterpiece although it would be hard to read to those below 9th grade because the language is to sophisticated. When I first tried reading it I was skipping a lot because I couldn't understand it but then I gave it another try I absolutely fell in love with it even though the language was still hard for me. |
