one of the best bands i know is onerepublic...they're mostly classical rock.
their songs really have meaning, and the lyrics are awesome
the band comes up with these great melodies, and their songs get stuck in my head so easily...

listening to their songs makes me feel better when i have bad days...

BACK-ON! Yeah, if I had to recommend a band, it would be these guys. Chain and New World are simply to notch! See-Saw is also a really good band too!

As a giant Sublime fan I'm contractual obligated to recommend them, but I also recommend The Doors, Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon is an awesome album), Janis Joplin, Muse, KNA Connected (Swedish or Danish or something but awesome), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, P.J. Harvey, Mazzy Star, Lily Allen, The Squirrel Nut Zippers, The Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, Royal Crown Revue, The Gorillaz, etc....
