I have 2 piercings in my right ear, a butterfly tattoo on my right shoulder, a butterfly with green cats eyes on my lower back (split so not going over the spine---girls lower back tattoos over the spine are not a good idea - no c-section or epidural for you) , a poison dart frog on one side of my left ankle, mew and celebi(wrong spelling??) on the other....for now. Each has their own meaning. Concerning Hepatitis C and tattoos-----first, know your artist; check out the shop before getting in the chair; second, ask questions even if you think they are stupid (hate to use this awful word), third and most important check out their equipment and how it's cleaned. If you don't like what you see and if your gut is telling you to run, DO IT. Plus, stay away from tattooing your neck or face --- appearances do matter especially to airport security. My personal advice.

i love both. on others and myself. i've got a tattoo design waiting to go on my calf and i've a piercing that i'm also wanting. $$$ is the issue (lack of) i do have a fondness for piecings that are functional and the one that i want totally will be.

Gardevoir on my left arm.
Yuki and Kyo from Fruits Basket on in zodiac form on my left arm.
Tohru from FB in onigiri form on my left arm.

For piercings I have/had:

Current:
Septum.
Two industrials + 3 lobes.
Two nostril rings.
Monroe.
Two inch long surface bars on each forearm.

Had:
Vertical labret.
One inch surface bar on each wrist.
Finger webbing between index and thumb.
Two two inch surface bars on my chest between my stars.

I have one piercing on each of my ears, the average one that most girls have. It wasn't even my choice to get it. My parents had it pierced when I was like 6-8 months old.

A piercing on each of my lobes that I got when I was around 4 months old...
I don't have tattoos, unless you count drawing on yourself a form of tattooing...
I don't have an facial piercings, but I want snake bites so bad... Can't have 'em, though. T-T

After reading Lovevless I had a butterfly tattooed on each ear lobe. It was a lovely - being chewed-on-type feeling, and the colourful result was great. Then I decided to go for the full arm bracelet.
Crap. It started off well, then the inner arm soft flesh and I screamed like I was in labour. You don't know me but I am almost 6'4'' and 85Kg - very fit - it took 20 minutes to get across that really sensitive bit. I had to phone a friend to come and sit on me, because despite being a good friend the artist had rules forbidding him from using restraint. Tie my arm down, Tie both arms, down tie my legs - crap! that really hurt. But you cannot stop once you've started.

I am pleased with the result. Now.

I have a belly-button piercing and will go for another next to that as that really increases the design possibilities.
