Smile Monk- the Detective.

I love dramas/TV shows about sleuths- and this one is entertaining and funny. It's about a man named Adrian Monk, who was given temporary leave from the police force when he developed OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).
He developed it when his wife Trudy was killed by a car bomb.

After having to leave the force, Monk becomes a Private Detective whom works for the police. He uses his traits of spotting things that are out of place to help the police in their homicide investigations- hoping one day he might be reinstated and get his badge back.

More than often his mannerisms and quirks come in handy- but sometimes they're a handicap- and also bring about some hilarious situations- such as having to carefully place a wet wipe on every step as he descends into a sewer to rescue his assistant (nurse) Sharona.

I think what makes Monk work as a great TV series is the cast of characters- it's not just Monk you're interested in. You start to love all the characters. They have some gripping, funny and emotional storylines as well.
My family have been watching the series diligently- and are now on Series 5. We're in the UK, so please, no spoilers pass season 4 if you know it. <3

You are not alone! I LOVE MONK!!!!
Tony Shalhoub deserves every Emmy he has. All of his mannerisms, the way he delivers his lines, is pure comedic gold.
