there seems to be a lot of stories like this one like in kare kano and animal jungle etc. and they usually end up getting married so does this mean it's legal in japan to marry your stepsibling? in my country it's not possible to marry your relative up to the 3rd degree of consanguinity (by blood) and affinity (by marriage) so stories like these just won't happen, but i suppose in japan it's ok.

in my country stepsiblings can marry. so i suppose theycan do it in japan. besides its not really like its incest as they are not related by blood. only then is it illeagal

it is not illegal to marry your stepsibling in Japan, illegal is to marry someone who is bloodrelated to you

I don't get why you can't marry someone in your family. like your dad is a total no way(its your DAD!!!! one of the reasons you exist), but brother(blood or not) is a human being and siblings can fall in love. It makes no sense why you can't. My best friend is dating her brother(really) and theres nothing weird. Their totaly in love. They always tell me that their going to another country where they can marry...is there even a country for blood siblings to get married. anyways love can't be controlled! YOU LOVE WHO YOU LOVE!!!!! *rants on and on!*

I think the reason is because when there is an incestuous relationship it increases the chances of the child having a genetic disease or being mutated. That's why they don't like siblings, or even cousins, getting married. It's more for the sake of the children than anything.

but if u ask me, i would agree in inter-marriage. I would give Yukii and Kaname(from VK) as an example, see.... even though they are blood-related, they can still marry each other.... but it's only a manga though!

but I don't know in real life..........
