Do you guys remember that shinigami in hueco mundo named Ashido, the one that was in there for several hundreds of years fighting the hollows. then he got stuck there when ichigo and the team left to porsue aizen. my question is do you guys thing that Ashido will be back or that was it for him, just a filler, what do you guys think?

i didn't start reading the manga until the grimmjow fight, just watch anime up til that point, but i remember people saying he was filler. so i doubt we'll see a return from him no more than we'll see a return from that bounto that hitsugaya thought he killed and that exiled (thought still in SS?) shinigami that created the bounto. the chick survived the end of the arc and yourichi took the bounto to her hiding place.

and nobody's mentioned ashido since, thinks that it for him..... too bad tho... he could have made an interesting character. i mean being trapped in constant combat for hundreds of years trying to readjust to moments of peace. then there's that captain america aspect where he has to get used to all the changes that have happened since he was away, example, what if one of the vaizard was his captain? even better what if he was in squad3? so now his former captain is a hollow hybrid and outcast from SS, and his former vice captain is the greatest threat to soul society. if they brought him back and explored the character he could become an instant favorite, but sadly, we may never see him again

I heard from someone (was it here?) that though this was a filler it was based on something Kubo Tite actually wanted in the manga (the whole Menos Forest thing- though he might've done it somewhat better) but didn't have time to do!
So if Ashido atleast might feature again- probably just in the anime (and the manga will allow for this), if only to die valiantly or say that he'll stay and always keep on fighting or something.

I just hope he comes back. Then the story will... wait a minute. are you talking about Ashido coming back when the 3 Espadas and Aizen are coming to destroy Karakura Town? Cause then that will be a no. But still, I hope he comes back.
