Ichigo vs Yoruichi, eh? I would absolutely love to see that one. As of this exact moment in time, which is September 11th, 2008, 10:27:22 PM, Yoruichi would win. She probably has at least a thousand years of experience of Ichigo. Not to mention, all of her fights so far have been without her zanpakutou! I mean, come on, either it is the suckiest one in existence or she simply doesn't need it. Not to say that Ichigo isn't strong. He is one of the most powerful shinigami in the history of Soul Society, considering his age and training. Now the the actual skills: Yoruichi is a master at shunpo, kidou, hand to hand, and swordplay. Ichigo is a master of just two, shunpo and swordplay. The other two are very important as well. He needs to learn them if he is going to have a chance, because he will be in certain situations he cannot shunpo away or use Zangetsu. Right now though, an upset might happen only because he has more reiatsu than her, and his trump card, his Hollow. Ichigo's resolve is stronger and more pure than anyone's, one of the biggest reasons concerning his strength. He digs deep and does his duty to make sure the ones he loves are safe. Pure. Innocent. Young. Although he is a soul reaper, he has yet to be corrupted by the rules of the Seireitei. Like Byakuya, SoiFon, Yamamoto. His friends, they might have once listened without question, but now they make decisions on their own. All because of Ichigo. Wow I really drifted off topic, huh? Well all I wanted to say was the Kurosaki Ichigo has the potential to beat Yoruichi-san, but he's not ready yet. Maybe with the help of a certain shopkeeper...?

That'd be cool if they did another Turn Back the Pendulum arc and showcased a fight Yoruichi's. While she was carrying Ichigo away from Byaku, she mentioned how she had slowed down...

Furthermore, I know her family would get her high up in the ranks, but I'm not so sure it would get her a captainship. So did she have a bankai... or kill someone like Zaraki did

Wow, Narutokunfan, we can't keep meeting in opposition like this. I don't think Ichigo has mastered anything, he seems to excel at a few things, but master is a bit much.

She actually does have a zanpaktou, which leads me to conclude that she does have a bankai. But she seems to feel it's unnecessary. I pray for the poor soul who makes her use it. Yourouchi and Nel seem to resemble each other, only in the fact that both are highly skilled warriors, but neither like to fight. It's like fighting/duty bores them, or just seems trivial.

That is actually a pretty good question...we all know that Ichimaru is a genius because of the Pendellum chapters and how fast he graduated, and we also have no idea what his Bankai is...so its hard to tell since we barely know anything about him at all

We don't even know what Ichigo's fully capable of yet, well because he doesn't. Soooo, this thread is a little premature in its nature. Even when we do come to this, Ichimaru is a lieutinant in Aizen's army. Suffice to say, who care, this is completly irrelevant.

Ichimaru, no contest, i mean yeah, ichi's the main character, so he CANT lose, which is silly but if oyu put it logicly-
Gin has never even needed to think about using anything past his shikai, whereas
Ichigo has gone as far as trancending species, and he is STILL not as strong

Evidence of this is inconclusive.... We know jerk about Ichimaru and his past. All we know is that he was Aizen's number one bootlicker for years now.
