It's meant to signify the question of just how similar Arrancars (Vastos etc.) to or different from, Shinigami. I'm curious to see what you have to say, so fire away...

P.S.: Am I the only one who's catching all the freaking editorial errors I'm inadvertently dropping in my posts. Maybe I'm the only one anal enough to care...:-)

In the cases of each where the barrier is gone, they are converging. (seeking balance... real quick off topic rant, i apologize in advance.... Anakin succeeded in bringing balance to the force, 2 jedi and 2 sith.... it has always bothered me that the jedi didn't eliminate him immediately... why would they have thought that balance was a good thing for them as they had an army of jedi against a handful of sith? I never wanted to reach into a fictional universe and smack a stupid smart person (Windu et al.) so badly before...... done ranting)

My sister always wondered how Anakin Brought balance to the Force. After all, (she maintains) if Anakin never went to the Dark Side, all would be well with the world.

If one agrees with this, they must inevitably ignore the stagnant corruption that had began eating at the Sou-, I mean, the Republic, a corruption so deep it began affecting the Jedi as Kenpa-, I mean Mace Windu said as he was about to freaking kill Aiz-, I mean emperor Palpatine... "He's too dangerous to be left alive!!" Well just who gets to decide that?! The Jedi are not hired assassins, Jabba has plenty of those... Who's job is it to decide who lives and who dies. It's certainly no Jedi, or shinigami's decision.

Now, given the inevitable fallout that was soon to ensue, what happened had to happen. But the Empire which replaced the Republic was no better. It worked for a while, but only because of its novelty. Once the novelty began wearing off, the people could see that a ruthless Empire was far worse than a corrupt Senate. But by the time this happened, the Emperor was too powerful to be stopped. Luke tried, and he failed. Which means that if young Anakin Skywalker had not joined the Emperor and became Darth Vader, the New Hope presented by Luke would have wound up dying in blazing blue bolts of fury. Vader saved his son. and thereby restored Balance to the Force; Both the Light and the Dark Sides. Whew... huh... done... boy that was long... That's my assessment... (Oh god, rav, please, please don't point out that the only reason look was in the Emperor's sights to begin with was because he went searching for Vader in the first place... please... whoops, did I just say all that out loud

Did not even think of this before now but....As Anakin was symbolic of jesus(virgin birth, but creation of sith lord) and was further corrupted by man{self and Palpatine} (pride, personal amibition, nationalism, fear, loss of faith) does he not parallel the antichrist? Ramifications............Luke/Leia..........head hurting.......Geroge Lucas now owes me for the asprin....

Anyway in one interpretation, Luke was supposed to bring balance and not his father....and something about how Palpatine survived his fate... Ive heard a few things regarding 7,8,9 but I the only thing I've confirmed is the the gentleman who play Chewbacca is under contract to do them, if they are made.

I would be very concerned about the consumption of the Vaizard as well.

There's NO ANTICHRIST BEING EVER MENTIONED IN THE BOOK OF REVELATION!!!!
There's the dragon, often called the first beast... I believe... And the false prophet, if I recall correctly (I read my Bible frequently but haven't dug into Rev in awhile... is the second beast.

In ALL the Bible, there is no ONE person mentioned as the 'Anti-Christ', though... (struggling on this, I'll reference it later) but I believe that the only other times the word 'AntiChrist' is even used in the whole Bible, is in 2 Timothy, where Paul warns that many will come with a spirit of
'AntiChrist', and deceive people. He goes on to say that many had already come, and many more were still to come. Again, I'll check my references on that and update as necessary.

In regards to Luke bringing balance to the Force, I am only primarily familiar with the movies... but in the Phantom Menace the Jedi council debates this, Qui Gon deems it to be so, Obi Wan (taking over Qui Gon's duties) reluctantly concedes this in his heart I believe, but, as far as I know, never really states it with his own lips. I'm not entirely sure, but I think by the beginning of the third movie (sixth) whatever... the Council was ready to accept it as well. And then it all went to hell...

I understand compleletly... Actually at first I was focused on the corruption thing and how it tied into one of our earlier discussions. The antichrist came up because in this instance he resembles an equal and opposite in so many respsects. Literally an anti christ.

Can there truly be a parallel drawn when the cited character doesn't technically exist in the cited work? (And yes, you have an 'out ' in that you technically cited no work of reference, so I'll amend with implied work cited:-) And yes, I know that can fall under assumption, and I know what they say about assumptions in general, though I didn't catch that in your advice thread, but don't expect me to be able to rember all 48-49(?) rules.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't phrased like this, though: When you ASSUME, you make an ASS out of U, and you make an ASS out of ME... But I'll take my chances :-)

P.S.: No my beliefs don't favor swearing, but if I tried to censor that, it would totally miss the mark. (And, as many of my Christian friends like to point out, ass is in the Bible:-)

My BA in BS allows for almost anything.... Besides I was mainly thinking of a the opposite version of Jesus as opposed to the biblical antichrist....... I was honestly thinking of Geroge Lucas intentially creating a negative of the entire Christian mythos based around that concept and what the implications would be.... The british actor who played Obi Wan (?Sir Alec Guiness?) in the first movie made reference to regretting his participation in episodes 4,5, and 6.... Need more aspirin and sleep......
