Alright we all know that in order to be a Captian you must achive Bankai (with Kenpachi being the exception) But does Aizen have a bankai, look at the facts.

1. Aizen's sword has the power of complete hypnosis, meaning he could make peolple believe he does.

2. If you remember in Ep 56 4th squad Lt. said that aizen had shown everyone his zanpakto was a running water type, which turned out to be, again hypnosis.

3. That could mean that aizen could have tricked old man yamomoto using his swords abilty to think he had bankai when in fact he didnt. If aizen was a captian very few people would question him on his actions if tthey look kind of odd.

Its just the more I think about the more it seems to make sence, Im starting to think that Aizen is very powerful but that he dosent have a bankai. I mean whats worse than 100% hypnosis...nothing. So what could top his shikai, not much but i guess were simply going to have to wait.

That's an interesting theory, but i don't think he'd be able to pull one over the head commander, let alone any of the other captains. He would have done so already, don't you think? He must have a bankai, he just hasn't needed to use it yet. I'm sure we'll see it soon. Interesting story-line so far, huh?

As I've mentioned before, I've played the Bleach: Blade of Fate game until my eyes bled. When those who could use Bankai had their Bankai attacks initiated, there's a short video of the Bankai's transformation. Aizen has a Bankai, as he has a video for it. (And all the Soul reapers announce their Bankai's, as they have to name them to activate them.) (I forget what Aizen's Bankai is called, but he does, obviously. call on Kyosuigetsu's name with it. As you must when activating Bankai.)

...my answer to that question is a big huge DUH! with a small free slap in the face...those are good facts but i doubt aizen would want to initiate his plan without a bankai which might be his fail safe...

Aizen definitely has to have a bankai. He said himself that he reached the limit in all 4 shinigami combat methods - art of the sword, hand-to-hand combat, fast movement and spells. If he really put so much effort to became the best of the best of the best (even if he's the top villain), he had to learn the bankai as well.

Of course Aizen has a Bankai, it would be weird if he hadn't, since he's so strong... I just think that he hasn't used yet because he didn't have to, that's how strong his Shikai is. But when he does use it... God, I don't want to think about it
It's a really good theory though, sorry to disagree... I make up all these differnt types of theories all the time...

i agree with the majority so far. Aizen absolutely has to have
a bankai. Although he does have the ability of complete hypnosis,
he is surely strong enough a Shinigami Captain to have a bankai.
he most likely took over the fifth division when Shinji left, meaning
that he didnt have to kill anyone to obtain his position. if complete
hypnosis was the case, who's to say that Aizen himself isnt just an
illusion? thats why i think its best to leave these things untouched,
but i do think that Aizen has a bankai.

and about those video games like Blade of Fate, etc. , Kubo Tite was
quoted saying that "the material in the games is 99.9% subject to
change, nothing in the video games set anything in stone for the
manga or Bleach storyline." so dont rely to heavily on that

You know, on the D.N. boards Makami Terru said 'and that cupcake you're eating? I spit on it.' Next you spit on my cupcake, you wanna give me a little warning first? Geez, you Bleach Brutes are so unforgiving That said, however, usually I try to reference material from the manga/anime instead, (if I'm wrong, I freely admit so, but so far the only direct challenge about me 'making things up' was soundly thwarted, ats they didn't have any more evidence than I did at that point in time), but in this case I defer to the game solely due to lack of evidence in any other format. I am seriously glad you put in that quote from Tite, though, as I was also about to pint out a clear contradiction between the game and what was mentioned above in the post about '200 viewers', (which I know is correct because I've seen.heard/it too), and that is the fact that in the game all the Captains who didn't even have their Bankai's shown had them in the game. This is kind of important because Captains who had no Bankai were; Yammamoto, Ukitake, Kyorakku, and Soi Fong. Just a little smuthin' to tinks 'bout.
