Yes it is, it symbolizes the day she became a "warrior".

Actually her design was actually one of Watsuki's original designs for Himura Kenshin, but yeah it's a scar since he had wanted to design a character w/ a facial scar.

you serious, I know that the mangaka was the same as the mangaka that created Kenshin and I knew that she had a scar on her face but I didn't know that it was because the mangaka wanted a character with a facial scar and it seems like a really simple reason for it

I thought it was because his friend suggested that he add a scar to her face...I think that was the reason, but I know that the answer is at the end of one of the tankobons, most likely for volume one.

He and Kurosaki Sensei (I'm guessing someone who taught him to draw) were talking about "What would you do if were to draw a female pro wrestling story?" and Kurosaki Sensei said draw a character with a facial scar so Nobuhiro Watsuki asked if he could use that in his series and he did. Also Tokiko is supposed to be a female version of Kenshin.

That's when that Homunculus disguised as a classmate attacked her, right?

Watsuki based her on Kenshin as Battousai, and has said that she is meant to be a female version of Battousai. The scar going across her nose is a remnant from when he was designing Kenshin, when Kenshin's scar stretched across his nose. Her design isn't really simply because he felt like having a character with a scar on her face, but because he had things he wanted to use in her design that he wasn't allowed to do with Kenshin (or just decided against, but still liked).

Yeah, at the end of vol. 10 it shows how she got her scar.

It looked pretty violent too, but it was one of my favorite Tokiko scenes. ^^

yeah... but it adds to her personality and makes her more of a tangable chracter, without scenes like that then she wouldnt have the depth to her character that she needs.
