hi everyone, i just recently started to watch D. Gray-man(the anime) and i've decided to read the manga, so could you tell me in what chapter should I start? i've seen so far to episode 74 of the anime. thanks in advance

Well, i think u should read chapter 89. It's the moment where Allen walks in (same as in the anime) ^^

I think you should start from episode 1 i mean if you don't your gonna miss out on alot of infomation as well as funny moments in the manga

On principle I agree with tigerphantom above, but there are now so many chapters that rereading from the beginning isn't feasible. When I get the chance, I'll look up what chapters feature the Noahs and recommend selected readings (and find out the chapters are when that exorcist turns into an abomination because you can skip them). ^_^

i think u should start on ch. 1 because even though alot of the anime follows the manga sometimes they change things or you miss some parts... well its all up to u also cuz u hav to wait for chapters so start on the beginning and like take a really long time so dat u dont hav o wait for chapters to come out dat much ahhahaha

Chapter 22 and the couple following is quite a good bit with Rhode and Allen.

Chapter 42 introduces Tiki Mick - you only have to read the last few pages to see the hotness that is Tiki Mick. Chapter 55 and following shows Tiki and the loss of Allen's Innocence.

Chapter 86 and the several following showing the Noahs battle with the Exorcists was the best part of the manga thus far so you should read that and then can skip ahead after that.

You can skip the battle with Skin (I think it's before that actually, and some of the Tokyo battle, as well as the battle with Jasdebi, since they suck, but should start reading again at 110 where Tiki and Rhode have the dinner party.

I could probably give you more past that, but I'm sure you'll be reading it anyway. The ark bits are the best. ^_^

I had recently bought The D.gray-man Manga vols 1,2,5,6,7,8 and while rereading the stories I learned something new that I didn't even realized about Allen, the noah, and that dick head Milenuim Earl. So if you haven't try and read from the beginning so you won't miss out on any particullay infomation on the characters and the situation, but on another manga site some dude said that there might only be 8 noahs because at each chair at the first dinner there was a moon on it and the dude said that there are eight phases of the moon so then there should be eight, but then again he could be wrong cuz the musician was the 14th noah right and thus ending he theory of only eight but then again the moon in the stroy is oddly different from the regular moon, but not as scary as the majora's mask moon LOL

I certainly don't think there are only 8 Noahs especially since the shadowy one has been described as the 14th. The moon can be an evocative symbol, but it has been used before - very early in the series - as simply a sinister symbol (just like the Moon in Tarot). The impression I got was that the Earl was the one behind the Moon, lurking there and ready to completely overturn the world when he is least suspected (i.e. always O_o;.

I do agree that the Noahs are limited in number, although I cannot say if it is 14 or some slightly higher number. In another discussion, we presented the possibility that when Noahs are killed, their "Noah nature" is reborn in another being. The manga has indicated something like that when the Anger Noah was "born" to his Noah nature, and when the Earl speaks of how he was eagerly anticipating when the Desire Noah (Tiki) transformed into his second form. So, they're an endless existence reincarnated when one dies or is killed.

I got that too that noah's are reborn or reicarnated watever,so i got to wonder when the 14th noah who I believe is Mana gave his power to control the ark to allen is allen technically the new 14th noah??? And to even further this theory Allen has a crazy reflection in the mirror now that talks to him and he's all shady and stuff could that be his true noah form???? But at the same time this could not be true because the noah's hate innocence and can control akuma, but allen can talk to the akuma souls and he did kinda made the lv3 give him info after he got his crown clown. But that theory can be pushed aside because of the 14th noah being able to betray the earl and give his power to allen or whoever else he did..... honestly I said enough lol
