Default Anime: Didya hear?

Hey, I heard through AnimeNewsNetwork that D.Gray-man is set for an English dub by Funimation! I prefer my subbed, but this is exciting!

See for yourself!

Not very manga related...

I'm kind of worried of the dub because they need to give Allen an english accent!! And the voices for Lenalee and Kanda and Tykki and everyone else! I don't know whether to be happy or worried at this point because of that. I'm really sad that it's licensed though -sniff-
but yeah until 2009 I'll be worried about where the episodes are going now

Yea, I'm kind of worried too. When I decided to watch the subbed D.Gray-man, I worried about the same things. Lavi's voice kind of annoyed me when he appeared. But it turned out okay. However the English dub tends to have not-so-great voices. If I hate them, I'll not watch it.

I don't really worry for accents. If you think about it, everyone would need some kind of accent. Reever would need an Australian, Allen, as you said, English, Krory -- Romanian, Cross maybe something, it's basically a multitude of nationalities. I'll just see the works of the actors when they come out.

So I basically have mixed feelings, but it's a landmark.

Well, that's true.

Licenses do seem to ruin everything. America is a mean country, too bad I live in it.

All I can do is hope they get great voices. But Naruto was done by VIZ while Dragon Ball was dubbed twice. Sometimes you get a perfect dub. But you can't always get what you want.

If you don't want to listen to the voices, drop it. It's pretty much the same as the manga.

Hopefully, D.Gray-man won't end up like Naruto. That's very painful to read now-a-days.

And no need for such a large font.

They are going to ruin D.Gray-man without a doubt.
I mean, so far the only way I've been able to tolerate anime is with the original Japanese voice actors. In most cases the American dub just makes my ears bleed.....except for Sailor Moon, that one was ok, then again I was only like 2 when I watched that XD
But yeah, what if they give a Lavi worthy voice to Kanda 0______0
Oh, the insanity XD

I am almost certain the dubbed version will ruin the voices big time. I wish the anime had never been licensed.
Oh, and by the way, do you know when FUNimation licensed D. Gray Man? Thanks.

I like FMA's dub, but subbed are still the way to go.

I would not be able to stand hearing a mixture of different nationalities' accents all at once, it's going to be kind of awkward. If they do dub it, I wish that they stick with one type of voicing.

I'm going to be depressed if they make this like Naruto, and it's english dub that has "BELIEVE IT!" as a catch phrase. But my heart goes out to everyone who is willing to try to make this anime easier to watch for english viewers, and my best wishes they do well.
