What exactly is cloud's innocence? is it the monkey? cause if it is then it is a separate being(except if it is a robot which i think is not because the innocence is a parasitic type) like Cross's second innocence which is on Maria.....that means cloud herself has another innocence that only belong to her so what is it?

The monkey is her innocence. It's always on her shoulders, so I think there's a place there where they're connected. They're always near each other too, so I'm guessing that the monkey still uses her life like all the other parasitic types do one way or another, even though it's not recognizably a part of her body.

I believe you're dead-on.

I think that on its own the monkey is not particularly remarkable, but it is her invocation that turns it into an Innocence monster and gives it power. The parasitic bit would be her life-force that gives him strength and makes him larger (and presumably if the monkey were injured, she would be as well).

It's funny that a general would have a parasitic type Innocence. I wonder what her secondary ability is.

And I do hope that Cross' Maria does more exceptional things. I'm a little fuzzy about how she is not a doll, but a corpse, but not actually a corpse because she's created through magic. I imagine the last bit was a confusing or mis-translated bit.

Doesn't she have a whip as well? (Chapter 144, page 6)

Could that be her innocence? Or does she just use it to spank the monkey into the offensive?

I think she has two.
She had the giant monkey...which made her a parasite type...and the whip, which might also make her the equipment type.

The whip does not appear to be a weapon, as it only eggs the monkey on and we've never seen her use it against an akuma. For it to be equipment type, it would have to be activated and be a weapon itself that in some way exorcises akuma.

The monkey though seems more complicated than an equipment type, but different than a parasitic type. It isn't physically attached to her, and doesn't 'transform part of her body', but it seems to transform and have fighting power through her energy. But that may just be because she's involved in the fight and not because it is parasitic. It would be a special type of equipment type though since it is a living creature, but it is certainly closely tied an Innocence since it can be activated. Maybe the Innocence is parasitic for the monkey in the way it transforms his, but it draws its energy from Cloud. O_o; I feel like a monkey grimacing at myself in a mirror...

first off, maria is a corpse controled by magic. so she's a magic puppet. but the bottom line is that she is a corpse controled like a puppet. its weard that no one is going to use her any more since the only powerfull sorcers that can controle her in earl and cross. well back to cloud
actually maybe the monkey it self is an exorcist and cloud has a different weapon. the monkey is probaly her partner or pet. after all, the monkey listens only to cloud and she is a general so she must have a different weapon. it might be the whip. and it was said in the manga that cross was the only person that could use 2 weapons. cloud is an exception cause that weapon belongs to the monkey not to cloud and the monkey is still alive so she is using it indirectivly, cross use the second one directly cause maria is a corpse

Well, back when I asked that, I was basing it on the fact that they said Maria was created by magic, not just controlled by it. But recently someone else has said that the line I'm referring to must have been a mistranslation and thus, I was correct in my presumption that she is a corpse controlled by magic like you said.

The way I can best work it out is that Cross materializes Maria using his magic, and that yes, she is a corpse. And through his magic, he also summons back her Innocence power, which was to control others' minds, etc.

I don't think the monkey is an Exorcist on his own. He's been described as an Innocence monster, so I think he's just an ordinary (albeit very intelligent) monkey that Cloud makes into an Innocence with her magic / power. The whip didn't seem to do much, but seemed only a way to goad the monkey on, so I don't know about it being a weapon. Who knows though? It could be.

I don't imagine we'll have much explanation of those two's Innocence since we're focused on Allen right now (and Cross has disappeared).
