| I was sad to see this series end, although I knew that it was going to happen ever since the beginning when Ryuk told him he would write Light's name in the Death note. Light was probably the smartest character in any manga series, outsmarting L and almost outsmarting both Near and Mello, and his only flaw was his trust in his subordinates.

| Uhhh... Light was Lucky... there's a difference. My comprehensive case on this is presented in Drinking Kira's Kool-Aid. And the way Light acted when his own death was imminent... disgusting!! ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Junior Member | Yes, it was an awesome series and I didn't like the ending... even though I was irate when Light killed L and promised myself that I would never forgive Kira for what he did, I still couldn't bring myself to hate Light. I was disappointed that he died in the end, even though I thought he was pretty much evil. Even so, I found myself rooting for him constantly and didn't want him to get caught by Near. But you know, SoulReaper, I don't think it was "disgusting" the way he acted directly before his death... I mean, he knew he had only seconds more to live. Do you really blame him for going insane, especially since his life goal had just ended (along with his life itself), the one he had kept alive for so long? |

| Perhaps... but then that would only show that he was deluded enough to have seriously thought that he would never have had to pay the price for all of his destructive acts. If that's the case, I respect Misa Amane much more, as she only did what she felt she had to, and in the end, to serve her ideal, that is Light's ideal, she committed suicide; when Light Yagami himself refused to take the 'high road' and die honorably for the ideals he had claimed to live by.

| The Tragic Prince | I must agree with the general concensus. I personally was rooting for Light all the way, with the exception of a few of his actions. After L had died, I fel that finally, the world can progress in the ideal direction. For Light to have ended war, driven crime underground, and dropped the crime rate by 90 percent speaks volumes of his superiority to the world's traditional devices. However, I was disappointed more so in HOW he died. I mean honestly, he folded. I only read about how he died on wiki and I did not actually witness it but it drained my interest in the series tremendously. I mean he FOLDED! Light Yagami actually BEGGED Ryuk for help. WTH?! Personally, these flames would never die so disgracefully. Light should have gone out like a beast! He should have said something like, "If you strike me down then I will become more powerful than you can ever imagine." Or, "I may die, but I am still victorious." Or, "By killing me, you fools have condemned the entire world." Something! Anything! But begging?! The only thing a person can hold onto forever is their dignity. And by going out like that, he had none. Light Yagami, you are not worthy of witnessing Zero Hour.

| Too bad the ink wasn't still wet on the fake deathnote since then all we would need is a real piece of DN to press up against it. Wouldn't you always keep a back up piece of DN, like in a watch?
