speaking of infinite...I was watching teh show earlier today and thought of something...how do you get rid of an infinite amount of something? i mean seriously... lol.
And how do you find the back of something that is infinite? (such as finding the inside of the back cover which would also lead to teh conclusion that on the left side of it you would be staring at the final page. which...is weird. lol)

No, no, it's not the last page that's unfindable, it's the middle. A thing like a book that can be accessed at back or front would have to do it that way. And infinite hallway can just keep extending at one end, but a book, it has to be in the middle. The middle could keep extending and extending, as you turned pages, you know? It's much more...elegant that way, neh?

he killed hundreds, thousands most likely. But again. 100 names or more could definitely be written on just one side of a page. And there was a second notebook as well. So...chances are, he probably only used around 10, 20...maybe 30 pages in his own notebook tops. perhaps a little less in Misa's.

(when i say 10, 20, or possibly 30. i mean separate pages. not 1 page for the front of one and then page 2 when you count the back of that page. so technically more than 200 names could probably be written on one sheet.

If your reffering to the deth notebook, -to me the notebook looks thin, yet it has so many pages. It probebly is endless. Though I wouldn't know.

Yo guys, there is very clearly a limit on the number of pages. Ryuuk says very clearly in one of the early chapters; that if a Shinigami is careful with the size of their handwriting and how many names they can squeeze on a page then the notebook can in essence, live forever. Why, may I propose, would they have to be careful with the size of their handwriting in order to preserve the number of pages if the pages are limitless.

If this is accurate then that must mean that, the Shinigami King has an unlimited number of Death Notes, meaning that, if a Shinigami is foolish and uses up the pages of their notebook, it's up to the King whether or not they get another one and get to keep stretching and preserving their lives for all eternity. I mean afterall, if they were limitless, the King would have no reason to have multiple Death Notes to give to the lucky Shinigami (like Ryuuk) who manages to outwit him.

For those of you though who are convinced that there is some trick to an endless notebook then I don't think the trouble is finding the MIDDLE or the END I believe that once you reach the end of the notebook you simply flip to what should be the back of the last page to keep writing and there's just an inexplicable other page, however to keep it discreet until you look at the page you want, it will always appear the same size. If I agreed with the idea of a limitless notebook this would make sense to me. And besides if there were just for example pages that just were added and added to the notebook as I've heard some people say then knowing Ryuuk, His Death Note would be more like a Death Phonebook.

4 years had passed and the notebook still hadnt finished!
it was pretty wierd
but light had two notebooks!

According to the Death Note's How to Use it XXXI, "The number of pages of the Death Note will never run out."

You can find this somewhere between chapters or vols of the manga, I suppose, although I cannot tell you exactly where. I promise you, however, that this is a direct quote from the Death Note's How to Use.

Which is why I was confused as to why Ryuk would say that he must stay until either Raito dies or the Death Note is filled. Then I decided that it is probably the same as when he told him that he can neither go to Heaven or Hell. It was just a trick. Just something for the sake of saying it. Like there is no heaven and hell, there is no end to the death note.

It makes me puzzled. Saying that the user (I'll pretend it's myself) of the Death Note can neither go to Heaven or Hell (something that scares the crap out of most people) might cause me great regret in using it.

However, by the time I learn of this rule it is too late.

The shinigami only comes after the Note is used so by the time I find out I can't go to Heaven or Hell, there is no point in worrying about it because it's a fate that has already been sealed.

Because of this, I may feel as though anything I do now wont matter. I can kill as much as I want and even if there is a God judging me or a devil waiting to burn me for eternity, they have no effect and cannot touch me.

I am exempt from judgment.

And so, I don't want to die now, knowing that nothingness awaits. So my only other option (that I am aware of) is to fill up the book as quickly as possible so that the shinagami will leave and I can go back to my old life.

The great trick to this, is that the note book never ends and I forever provide bloody entertainment for the restless God of Death until he finally kills me anyway.

That, or this has been a sad mistake of the writer.
