I think it's kinda crappy.

Is it even by the same artist? The characters look entirely different...

I thought it was good considering it`s a oneshot.I actually like Near and he looked cool now that he was older and his hair was longerXD

Yeah, I read that one quite a while ago. I really like it because it explains everything I wanted to know about what happens next as well as a little of what wasn't said before. What Misa ends up doing, Near's memory of L, the reason Matsuda never pinned Raito as Kira like the others, and how the world just falls back into place like nothing ever happened.

I kind of wish it had've explained what Raito's family was going through. How they were told he died. Ah well.

Really? I don't see that in the story.
Oh yes, I completely forgot about Light's family. It's such a disappointment that there was no information about them after Light got killed.

I like the part about Near's flashback when he first 'met' with L. L's sense of justice is reasonable. I like how he explained why did he like investigating crimes and how he wasn't actually a kind of police that would want to investigate every crime.

What do you mean what Misa ended up doing? She didn't end up doing anything except for committing suicide. Which I thought it was a bit funny that they didn't even mention that. It was only mentioned in volume 13.
But anyway, it tells absolutely nothing about what happened to Misa in the One Shot manga.

Heh...L painted himself pretty black, huh? I dunno, I'm still going to give him credit for the sentence 'twelve precious lives,' that he thought back before we saw his face, after the FBI agents died, which suggest he did have moral compunctions, and for the sense of responsibility he displayed when Misa held the police directors hostage to make him appear on television. And that he chose Mello and Near for sitting back without asking questions and having a nasty look in their eyes, that was...actually predictable. u.u; What a negative world, though. Death Note didn't start out so bleak. Nice job Near killing C-Kira off with just words, though.

^^ Looks like the prevailing opinion now is that Light was Ryuk's pet. Heh. And like Ryuk has shaken the shinigami world up a little...I wonder if it'll go anywhere after this. Probably not. Everything's rotten, after all. Ryuk seems to be the closest thing the shinigami world could produce to...well, to L, actually. I was going to say Light, but he was more like L.
