| I loved it.Finally someone said straight to Light`s face he was nothing but a crazy mass murderer.Although I was suprised at how evil Ryuk suddenly turned out to be.In the anime,he was rather sad when he was writing his name in the book.Here he was all laughing and had the "too bad for you" attittude.And it was awesome how Matsuda was the one who somewhat finished him off and saved Near`s life by shooting him before he got to write his name down. I feel it was necessary for Light to die.Consider how smart he is,he would probably figure out a way to get out of jail eventually,if Ryuk hadn`t killed him. So all I can say is I`m satisfied with the ending,and I have to say prefer the manga ending.I did love the part about the anime where he saw L right as he died tho,that gave me teary eyes....

| It was a morbid end ... Way to build up my love for two amazing characters (mr. Lawliet and Raito) only to kill them both! The main characters both met their end by way of death god. It was a very fitting ending, yet I couldn't help but wish Raito would live to go on with his 'clensing' of the globe. Haha. Then again, I was just sad to see the series end at all. |

| Personally i thought it was satisfactory.Any ending for death note was bad news for me though........>.>

| Actually, I didn't really understand the ending. Especially the part where Near was explaining about how he switched the book with Light's switched book.. And so etc. The switching book part really got me confused. Maybe I was too tired to understand what Near was saying (it was 12 P.M when I read it. lol), but I still don't get it until now. That was the only part of the ending I didn't get; and it ruined the ending. I didn't get a chance to know how could Near win and know Light's plan. Oh well, other than that, I find the ending quite satisfying. Leaving Light to be the murderer and having him killed by his own shinigami. Oh, and Matsuda shot Light's hand? That was very interesting to watch.

| Lol the ending was good in some ways i guess.But i was really diaapointed when it was all over.

I didn`t get it the first time either,but after watching the anime I got it.I`ll try my best to explain,it really is quite simple; Light knew Near had him under his watch so he purposely made Mikami Teru judge in his book in public so Near`s agents would see it.What they didn`t know was in stead of Mikami doing the judging,it was the tv woman(always forget her name),writing in the real notebook while the one Teru had was fake.However that fatal happened when Mello kidnapped the tv chick whick make Light kill her via the notebook.What he had never considered was that when Teru found out she was kidnapped he went to the library to write her name down in his fake notebook.This he did before Light did.By going to the library on that day Near`s agents were confused why he had broke his routine and they followed him.That`s how the fake notebook was revealed.If it hadn`t been for Teru doing that,Light would have won. I`m pretty sure this is how it worked.If anyone sees a mistake in my explanation,please do correct me.

  | i thought it was fine... it could've been better but it was a neccesary ending. it was somewhat of a game... ryuk started it when he dropped the death note, and he ended it when he killed light. in a way, it shows how easily humans can be manipulated. as ryuk said, "humans are so much fun".
