Default what kind of society would you create?

as light wanted to create a society with himself at the center as God that he claimed would be based of justice and beneficence, what kind of society would you create if given the chance?

i personally would have a liberal society, where all opinions and beliefs would have import so long as they did not create/promote harming of societal members. materialism i would abolish basing it not on comuionism but collectiveist individuality. all of society would be geared towards the happiness and provision for the needs of EACH individual member.
people could marry as they would, express themselves in any form, and the government would be obliged to allow people to do as such.

decidents would not be killed as long as they did not harm the general welfare of society. as long as an opinion was not harmful to others then it would be listened to. murders and rapist would NOT be killed. however, they would be exiled to their own far of location where they could provide for themselves but could not return (they would have no idea where they were and mainstream society was). those who find redemption would cause a problem for me. if they truly realize the wrongness of their actions they should (being properly monitored) alowed to rejoin society and contribute. however, how i would figure out who is genous and who is not i do not know.

however, i would have a prison system for minor criminals which would serve as psuedo punishment but also rehabilitaion.

carrying for others and expression would be crucial to society and tolerance and acceptance a must.

what about yall. (yes i know i know i have bad grammer but i did worn people of this before)

I would normally have something lengthy to say about this, but my pessimistic side prevents me from doing so.

Although I believe that short-term/long-term changes are possible, to change the scale to fit the entire world simply seems impossible. This is why attempts at utopia inevitably fail: it is because we as a people have our own failures... failures that are inborn and recurring.

However, if I were to change the world, I would have followed Light's example (though I may have failed miserably in comparison lol).

Here's a random thought, what if everyone each got a sheet of the deathnote to use as they see fit? Would it mean the end of everything or would our political/military leaders' concept of mutually assured destruction actually work?

I remember on Deviantart I was looking through someone's gallery.

L got an idea, and he put the Death Note into a paper shredder (while Light watched with horror). Then he dumped all of the tiny pieces out the window, and out onto the city, where a million pedestrians were walking.

They all touched the Death Note, and saw Ryuk outside of the window lol There was HUGE uproar.

Interesting, I would have loved to see that. Was it still, animated, or text? (I am ignorant about Deviantart. Or maybe I know and just forgot... gotta make room for new stuff, ya know)

Oh, that was by Silent.Reaper. It was a drawn comic, but it looked sort of animated. They make loads of dumbly awesome comics. ^^

Default The Coming of A New Age

If I were to create a new world, hmmmm, well I wouldn't go about it in the exact way that Light did though some of our methods would be similar. I think Light's fatal flaw was not some inflated ego (please feel free to disagree) but rather, I think Light's downfall was due to impatience. Light wanted his new world and he wanted it here and now, but such things take a great deal of time. I mean I could understand if he made the deal for th Shinigami Eyes then he should be in hurry but anyway, my world and my methods would be different. If I had the Death Note (or the Rinnengan if I could just grab another power or something) I would make sure all of my actions are on the DL. I would be patient and calculating in all of my actions and I wouldn't care about gaining noteriety or attention at least in the beginning. I would simply go about my plans and undercover. If anyone here reads Naruto or not, they should still read the chapter entitled, About Pain.

Manga Fox: Naruto Vol.40 Ch.369: About Pain Online Manga Scans

Similar to Pain's situation, the only thing that would be known about me are my exploits and whatever name the world knows me by. By letting only my name be known, I will allow my loyal subjects to create a myth around me. In addition, because my actions would be great and many, I would appear to them as some great and mysterious being. This is not for some ego but rather, its practical applications. If the people do not know what their leader looks like, sounds like, where he/she lives, then the people will be more apt to follow because they never know where that powerful figure is or who they are.

I would do my own investigation into the histories of criminals to decide whether or not they should die. I would like to have people live happily but I will set some ground rules. My world would follow morality and ethics which are written in stone and those who oppose the harmony of my society will be dealt with. Penalties would probably be in the realm of reinstitutionalization. Hmmmm, okay, if anyone has seen Equilibrium, my world would be more similar to that. But people wouldn't be doped up to their eyeballs. Granted, I understand that everyone has their own way of life but that would not be a major priority in the new world. Morality is what is most important. If a person cannot exercise their freewill without harming moral standards, then they will have to be dealt with. Whenever people want to get a little out of control with their "Freewill" I would send in a group called the Judges who follow me to a science! The Judges would be the only people in the world who know my face. Granted this may sound extreme, but good people would have nothing to worry about. Only those who commit evil will find themselves backed against the wall. Some may ask how I might deal with specific cases. While I am a bit too weary to delve into that, I will pose this to keep things in perspective.

If a man steals a loaf of bread to feed his family he is still stealing no matter what the case. This world would probably deem him guilty. In my world, he won't have to steal. A person who steals only because they don't want to work however, will be educated. A person who steals for the thrill, will be re-educated. A person who steals for the sole purpose of causing chaos will fall victim to that chaos. To burn forever in the never ending fire of this phoenix.

while u mention burning eternal flames i just thought of something. eternal damnation contradicts the idea of a loving god. everyone says god gives people so many chances and then if u keep breaking his rules, after being given so many chances u diserve eternal damnation. ok, heres the problem: what if after a million million MILLION years in hell, you realize OH MY GOD I HAVE DONE SOMETHING WRONG. IVE DONE SOMETHING THAT HURTS MY FELLOW MAN AND HAS OFFENDED GOD! GOD I AM SORRY, NOT BECAUSE I AM IN HELL BUT BECAUSE I HAVE HURT MY FELLOW HUMANS AND YOU! then should not that human be welcomed back into the foll as it were? if god is like a parent to us, a true parent accepts a sorrowful child no matter what, if they truly mean it. as a god should understand the inner workings of their children to the degree of the greatest parent then that god would know that the redemption is real. why would god not accept their child back? then should hell not really be considered a place of etenal punishment so much as punishment but also rehabilitation? would not god want to punish, as a parent should, a bad child, but also teach them what they did was wrong so they can be good people? this ofcourse only applys if one believes in a god ofcourse
