| Here's how to play. Someone else will volunteer and start the story of how an owner(we'll call him Moon or something analagous to Light) of the death note would act before ultimately being caught and killed by L. Each of you will have the chance to write the next sentence after the first and the one that follows, etc., until the main character meets his fate at the hands of L (any L, even Lght) No one is allowed to post after themselves. You must wait for someone else to continue. Number your response and label apropriately in case of divergence, i.e. if two people post 2 too quickly there is a 3a and 3b. Let's try not to get to 'c'. It should go no further but we'd alternate letters and numbers if we we do the tree version. We can either do this as a direct a line as possible of a wider branching tree. Personally, I want to keep this simpler as we can do the branching thing later if we really want to and go nuts. The simpler way gets us to the end a bit faster and would be good practice if we all did this again. So... You must go back and edit your post so that the main character dies (not necessarily at the hands of L) if it is the last one in a chain that is too far behind the rest of the possible threads. Enjoy killing him as it was yours that was the last. Try to keep it to a paragraph. ![]() Later if you like we can eliminate any restrictions about diverging on a separate thread, grow the tree, and make a mammoth choose your own adventure in which somehow all the threads end at the same point, again... death at the hands of L. What do you guys think? I tried this unsuccessfully elsewhere but I'm sure you guys are mature enough to enjoy this. However, I'm going to proctor this one. I'll send you a PM to let you know if your post was the 'lucky' one and it's time to write an ending of your choice. The first one to post decides the name and can set the rough time frame. Ready? PM me if you have questions.

| As Star walked the pitch black alley slowly soaking with the midnight March rain, he pondered back to himself what had happened, and was glad it was done with. The deep rain blood staining his hands and fingernails. The blood of his mother's murderer all over him. He threw the instrument of death into a covered garbage can, his hand brushing the smooth leather substance of something foreign to him. He was tempted to ignore it, but... (P.S.: My apologies for taking liberties here. It's kind of hard to start a story on one sentence, and there appeared to be no rule against starting the story with a paragraph...)

| His hands began to move back to it. "What am I doing?!" he thought, "This terrible weapon, why do I still need it!"

| The thoughts tormented him. Inside his mind it was like a batlefield of logic. His common sense desperately urged him to forget about the notebook. It was made by diabolic demons and Star should never go near it again! But then the opposing forces came, their identities unknown, but they gave a tempting offer. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance! How often do boys find a book with the power to kill? Never! Also, killing can be used for good. Killing is a terrible, immoral thing but at times it is inevidable. Use it for good and save lives! Star trembled as he decided on his course of action. Yes, he would... (This is fun! )

| He glances around to make certain that he was alone. He grabs the prize. "I see someone has finally found my notebook." Startled, he spins around.... (glad you're enjoying it.)

| The thing in the shodows chuckled at the boy's fear. "Be glad I'm not in the light, little human. Hah, you'd possibly have a real heart-attack then" The shadow chuckled, his laugh sounding deep and menacing. Star breethed deeply in an attempt to calm down, soon feeling his heart back at its usual pace. Feeling some courage flow back into him, Star finally spoke to the being. "What do you mean? Who are you?!" The shodow meerly chuckled again, and Star was getting the horrible feeling that this thing may not even be human. The monster replied after his giggle fit. "My name is..." (I hope mine are good. )

I too have no idea who BB is..... again breaking fourth wall)
