Hey...nice. The 'having made a lot of mistakes' model of L hadn't occured to me. Glad someone else thinks that same thing about how he'd use it, and the same things about his mind so that, if it did somehow take over the equation (though it would have to actually be cursed to manage this, okay) he would really, really hate living like that.

Actually, I think he'll do what I'd do and investigate its nature (even if that means killing a few death row inmates with it- 'L'egally of course!)- its too good to pass up!

L would use it.
probably to kill off criminals, like light.
they have similar personalities, after all.

what i wonder is whether light would end up working against L.
that's one of the things i love about death note...there's not really a "good guy" or a "bad guy"...
with one change of events, light and L's positions could switch so easily...

I doubt he'd be averse to using it as I said before- he indeed already had when he manipulated Kira into killing Lynd L Taylor the death row inmate. However, L's isn't an instant version of justice, and is not driven by the naive tides of peculiarities that situations often (almost necessarily) bring about. He's also not big on using the logic of fear, on which Kira's new world was based (it goes back to Hobbes and the Leviathan), rather, his version of justice is to uphold the prevailing paradigm and instead of chopping the tree so as to stop the garden being ridden with the dead autumn leaves (as Kira did), he sweeps them away as they come (perhaps reminiscient of Rousseau's political theory) - by no means is it an easy task, but at the very least, in my opinion, infinitely more honourable than the blind massacre of denial Light became centre of.

Well, I think if L were the one to find the Death Note (before anyone else could, including Light) I don't think he would have used it to kill criminals, because since he's a detective I think he would prefer to catch them himself. Besides, though he's childish, He's not the kind of person who would think in an utopia without criminals and stuff like that.

In the other hand, if you ask if L had used the Death Note after Light found the note book and became Kira, then the only thing I have to tell you is that I'm not quite sure.

Since L is childish and hates to lose (I don't know how exactly he thinks, but this is just a theory) I think that playing the same game as your opponent is a way of losing, because with that you would be saying that your ways don't work and that your enemy's are best than yours.

i think L would of used it according to law, maybe even loan it to kill criminals with a death sentence X) cuz frying them and poisoning them is wrong X)
