Default Did L know Light was Kira?

In episode 25, after the rainstorm scene, L said that he was sad. He then said: You'll understand soon. This makes me think, during that time; L knew that Light was Kira. Irrelevant things come to mind which makes holds back L, from making any decisions. I can't help but think that there was something that was holding back L, to make an assertion. Furthermore, L was washing Light's feet, relating to biblical references. Meaning to say, L accepted Light as a companion/friend. He then said that "He was sad" Kinda makes me think about Jesus and Judas..

Thumbs up Kira brought to Light

L knew that Light was Kira from the time the F.B.I agents were killed. I don't believe that there was a time when he didn't believe that to be the case. However, I believe in the case of Kira, the punishment would be as severe as humanly possible, ya better have the right guy. Also, I believe L truly did like Light. He found in him a kindred spirit if you will. I don't think towards the end that L wanted it to be true but he always knew it was. That is why he told Light " we will be parting ways soon, you know.'' L knew he was going to die. I also believe he knew the exact moment that Kira returned. L's problem catching Kira was not in his logic, but rather his emotion. All the seemingly silly little tests or the proof he was trying to gather against Light was not to convince the task force but rather himself. Perhaps his final test was his way of trying to vindicate Light., after all, the only person in the room who had anything to lose by him disproving the 13 day rule was Light, so therefore, why would his life be in jeopardy if Light was not Kira. This was his next step to evidence as to the identity of Kira. It is my belief that his previous discussion with Watari entailed this. Unfortunately, Watari was unexpectedly killed first. I believe this final test of L's perhaps could have helped vindicate Light in L's eyes had he lived, even if it did put Misa and Light back on the Kira radar if you will. A greater mind cannot be missed in such a sad tale as this.

Ahh.. Yes. Indeed, emotional loneliness L felt. Light didn't seem to have a conscience when he made Rem kill L. L said, he always had to "NOT" get involved in socials. Probably because, L 's identity would lead to his jeopardy. This, made L sad. Probably, L saw a little of himself, in Light. This made L able to relate with Light.. However, he was sad and didn't like the fact that Light was Kira.. Because, Light was L's first friend.. The washing feet scene really made me sad.

Well, in the Movie of Death Note, L have always known that Light was really Kira. He never had any doubt about his theory. In the end, L's theory was proven when he pretended to be dead after Watari collapsed and died in the elevator with Misa. Ohohoho! Light never expected that his plan would back fire! Well, at least in the end of the movie, Light died and L lived. . .uh, at least i think so. I don't get the part after Souichiro Yagami bid good bye to L and L fell silent and dark after that with Watari's pic 0_0

anyhooo, enough spoilers from the Movie...

If you liked the anime and the manga, then you'll love the MOVIE! especially if you wanted L be the one to defeat Light =D

L/Ryuzaki-sama!!!!!!!!!! you're soooo COOL! >_<

Lightbulb How Light felt...

I believe that at the point when Light actually kills L (gets Rem to do it...same thing really) if you look at the manga then you can see almost disbelief on his face as L falls out the chair. I really think that in that one moment 'Light' not Kira was showing through after Light had regained his memories. Because not matter how controled you are over your feelings if you live with some one in close proxsimity for weeks, months on end then your going to get attached.

In a way I think that Light and Kira are almost like a split personality. I mainly get this from the big differences in the memorieless Light and 'normal' Light. Also if you look at the opening and ending credits in particular for the anime then there are rather large hints that there could be two different personalities there represented with the blue for good (Light) and the red for bad (Kira). Just take a look at the 1st closing credits and you'll see what I mean.

Either way I believe that Light did feel that L was a friend, if not close, but also a rival and in some respects it is more of a strain when you lose a rival then when you lose a friend!

Either way L almost deffinatly knew that Light was Kira. I think in some ways he was giving Light all those tests to try and get him out of suspision. L only really started to take interest in Light after he put cameras in his house and saw just how bright Light was. I think that L so desparatly wanted Light to be his friend that he let his emotions get the better of him.

Argh

The whole thing with L made me sad. I've seen the english dub of episode 25 and L was talking about the bells. From this, i have a theory that L had a feeling that he was going to die from the sound of the bells. Maybe the biblical scene with the cleaning of feet was a sign of 'i give in'.

I personally doubt it, because L is the hardest person to read but the way he was acting, he loved Light very much and maybe he had to deny Light was Kira for his own sake. It was his very first friend.

Argh... i'm just rambling on about this L business. But if Light was normal, without the death note; he would be quite close to L.

Indeed. In Death Note: How to Read 13 Ohba said that Light was "a young man who could understand the pain of others" when he first encountered the Death Note. Ohba said that if Ryuk never developed an interest in the human world, Light would have become "one of the greatest police leaders in the world" who, with L, worked against criminals.
