I gave up the hope of seeing the end of this series long ago. I read it for the fun of it every once in a while, to have sth to do when I'm online.

Btw, another long series, Inuyasha, has ended with 558 chapters, I was suprised. Heh, who want to bet this series will exceed 700 chaps ?

Eh, Since its a mystery unlike some genres it could go on for forever...because as long as they add a little main story in after every few cases they can keep streching it out. *Sigh* after a few hundred chapters i start to get tired of this approch though...Mabye there still trying to decide how to end it...

I agree and not agree. I like the way Detective Conan is long 'cause if it's short then it shows that the writer and illustrator doesn't have that much commitment to his/her manga. And If it is long it will make the Anime show MORE longer. havent u notice that plenty of anime is shorter than the manga? But it is also bad for the manga if it is too long

. cause the reader might get bored of the manga. They might notice that Conan isn't getting near to find the men in the black suits, so they could just skip to the ending, cause I just notice that case after case a he solves it like in 2 chapters,but I got excited in couple of events like Conan met with the Great detective of the west, Hattori. And Conan met Kid the Phantom theif. I like those kind of events.

I understand your position and yes, this series is getting REALLY long. But think of it this way, if Case Closed/Detective Conan ended, wouldn't that be kind of dreadful since....that's the end of it. I wouldn't mind the series going on for a long time, but I WOULD like to see the story get back on track with the relationship between Kudo and Ran Mori and how he will face the Black Organization and return to his original form.

True same here I'd also like to see more of the black organization of course extending the series with other random cases is nice to but I skip parts in between them as they bore me sometimes lol :>

I actually don't think it is too long because I like it I am addicted to mystery series and this is the best one so I am glad that it is long but I don't think it is too long cuz if it were shorter then it would be as good in my opinion because when it is shorter they rush things to much instead of putting in a lot of detail to it so I like this and I like how they have varying degrees of difficulty in the cases because I like to see if I can solve them before conan and sometimes I can so I like that it allows the reader to try to solve the mysteries to

I don't think that Conan is too long. I'm always wating for next volume or chapter coming out depending on how am I gonna read it.
And I even buy later those volumes I've read and go them throught several times.

Besides Gosho -sensei must really enjoy making this manga, because he has been into mystery stories such a long time. And I think that you can see that in his stories.

By the way, I also like One Piece and have read all chapters till now

well there might be something in long series that fascinates me, since I dont feel satisfied after reading oneshots.
