| Depending on where you get your definition, seinen can be 18-25 as mentioned. I have also seen it defined as 18-35 and 18-however old you are when you read it. The demographics are not rating systems. It's like the difference between Harry Potter and The Catcher in The Rye. It does not necessarilly(spelling?) go by how sexual or graphic a story is. It mainly goes by the themes and underlying issues of the story. The difference between the demographics are how embedded the real issues are. A story written for younger people will state the issues in a more forward manner rather than leaving the issues to be discovered as is done in stories for older teens and up. If this doesn't make sense forgive me. I'm a bit tired. |
