| Actually...to be perfectly honest...I've seen more girls read this than boys. o_O So...yeah. Also...seinen is for young men, generally ranging from 18-25, not old geezers. o_O Get your facts straight. Personally...I don't like all the sexual stuff. o_O I think it's too good of a story to be wasted helping desparate men get off. -_-" Last edited by HunkyDory : 04-25-2008 at 12:50 AM. |

| Rogue Angel | Usually shounen is included with seinen (or at least in the stuff Ive looked at)

| Shōnen is usually directed to boys from elementary to junior-high, though there's some shōnen directed to high-schoolers. Yu-Gi-Oh, Bleach, and Pokémon are good examples of shōnen. o_O So, you see, shōnen is something you may let a third-grader read...but seinen is not, as you can plainly see with Elfen Lied. |

| Elfen is definitely not shounen. I have seen some shounen that have nudity in them, are not the same level as seinen. Also, seinen have deeper aspects of the stories. When you compare similar anime/mangas, one being shounen the other seinen, you can clearly tell the difference. ![]() |

The nudity is there for a reason. It's to MAKE the viewer feel more uncomfortable, especially in psychologically disturbing scenes. Part of the story IS the "sexual stuff", but it's to emphasize emotions and themes, not fanservice. | |

| Hey...we already cleared this up. It's not for old men. As for maha's reply to my post...when I say sexual stuff, I mean the fanservices ('cause the fact that all the dicloni at the lab naked, or when [spoiler!!!] Mayu is nearly molested again...I don't consider those sorts of things, as some may say, "sexual", but additions to the story that make the characters' pain seem more real and horrifying). When Nyuu, out of the blue, suddenly grabs boobs on other women, or violates them in some other way. That's the stuff I hate. Get my drift? What I'm saying is...the fanservices shouldn't be in there at all...it's such a wonderful story, and the fanservices almost make me not want to read this. o_O Almost. Sorry I didn't explain myself clearly. ;_; Last edited by HunkyDory : 05-23-2008 at 12:23 AM. |
