Unhappy Ah, I just finished reading Fruits Basket...

I feel... Sad.

But happy that it all worked out so well.

I think I'm going to miss the suprizes I'd get as the story progressed.

And the way the characters would grow older each book.

But I know that there'll always be another Manga out there that can do the same thing.

And make me feel so emotional.

But then again, nothing is going to ever replace Fruits Basket, is it?

What are your thoughts?

Will anything ever be as great as Fruits Basket was?

Fruits basket is... an emotional story about love, hate and the zodiac... I just finished the series as well and i feel the same as you do. There will be nothing that can ever replace Fruits Basket. There are a lot of manga/anime out there that just can never be replaced. The one and only. I wonder how deep all these authors have to get, yet add a sense of humor to it... the most shocking thing for me would be that we won't get to see what happens next. Will Momiji get a girlfriend? Do Kisa and Hiro become a couple. And what about Hinata? the new baby? Would Kisa become jealous of it? and Ritsu... the story could go on and on forever. All the unforgetable characters and the amazing story plot. My eyes are still teary as i write this. All things must come to an end, but i really did hope this one would've gone on more. That there'd be more to this story as new lives and love was only begining to grow...

Kyou and Tohru belong together and it was very touching to see them much older again. It makes you wonder what happened in between the time they grew old. But it was a perfect moment, not too late into the story where we see them die or too early where Tohru and Kyo just got onto the plane and that was it, for Fruits Basket to finish on.

Thankyou for such a long, emotion filled reply.

Thats the reason I think Fruits Basket will always be remembered by it's long-time fans.

Not only was it beautifully illustrated, But the story was one that left you thinking,

and still managed to satisfy your curiosity.

And as much as we all wish to see Momiji with a family or what will happen between Kisa and Hiro...

We'll just have to use our imagination for that.

I agree, i feel so sad that Fruits Basket ended. I believe that it is and will always be my favourite manga or at least Shojo manga. It was so sad and beautiful and covered so many different emotions like jealousy, hate, guilt etc and all in such detail. I also love the way that all the characters had flaws and that their pasts really did effect their characters.
Its the one of the few shojos that are truly memorable in my opinion.
I dont know if it will compare, but if you are looking for a new manga the mangaka of fruits basket is has started a new series. Im not sure if it is any good though 'Hoshi wa Utau' (Twinkle star)
And one of the other shojos ive loved is 'Beast Master'. A very good story though only 6 chapters have so far been released!
Not sure if either even compare to Fruits Basket but they are worth trying out! ^^
Maybe they can distract you from your loss lol?

Fruits Basket is so amazing! It is the best manga out there! And I do read alot of manga! Nothing can compare to this manga! This manga shines like no other! I totally got involved with this story and I cried countless times for the Sohmas! I felt so happy that Kyou ended up with Tohru! I was supporting them ever since the beginning!

Fruits Basket will always be in my heart! And now to see what happens to them, we can only rely on fanfiction! -_-

I know what you mean, on pretty much everything you listed here. I actually cried when I finished it- partly because the ending was oh-so sweet, but partly because I was sad that there wasn't any more for me to read. It kinda felt like I had to say good-bye for good to some really great friends- especially since I read the entire manga in less than a week. And afterwards, I read some other mangas- all of which were really great, but not quite so epic as Furuba. I miss it a lot.
