| It would be unrasonal or cruel to kill Al because all the adventure start with ED wanting to get back his brother body. To tell the true Ed could had live very well without his arm and leg because he is a genius, has cool mecanical equipment and he have winly how is xcrasy for him. The most posible end would be that Ed dies or goes to the real world or it has happy ending , But Al yes or yes has to get his body back and the country has to be saved. |

| I think there a good possiblity that Ed will not get his limbs back. Kinda selfish anyway seeing as tons of people loose their arms and legs in war and things when Ed lost his as a toll for a sin. Al definatly has to get his body back but Ed will be just fine the way he is. Plus he didn't even want his arm and leg back in the first place, he just got the automail to get his brothers body back and just says he'll get his orginal body back cause Al tells him he has to, too. So yeah... ![]() |

| Man Behind the Curtain | Hmmm...technically it shouldn't be labelled tragedy, since it hasn't given any strong indications that it's going to terminate with 'most everybody dead.' It has got pathos, though, and yes, there are a lot of tragedies stuffed into it: Trishas, Maes, Nina, Greed-tachi, Ishbal, Hohenheim. But I think the reason that all that sorrow got it the 'tragedy' tag is the sense of impotence. Ed can't solve it all. Ed can hardly solve anything. The problem is complicated and the enemy is all but invincible and is the master of the land. Ed rarely gives in to it, but compared to most 'fighting manga' (and I swear I don't know how it keeps that label) it's thick with futility. And 'it's all futile' is what makes much of the sense of tragedy, so that's probably what the labellers were responding to. Or maybe just all the sorrow. Or maybe the way the anime ended. But not to worry, RulesChick, the people attaching the label know no more of the manga ending than you. |

| Shakespeare once said, "There is two ways to end a play: A wedding or a funeral. Comedies will always end in a wedding and a tragedy will always end in a funeral." How many weddings have you seen in this manga? Although I really hope that Ed and Winry get married. They love each other. I know it. You know it. Hiromu Arakawa knows it. We all know it! Hell, I think the characters know it too. ![]()
