At first I thought that the new series might be what the anime missed out in the manga but now that I'm that far into the manga I don't see that as a possibility.

I wonder if it would continue from where Ed and Al left off but I don't see where that could posibly lead, the brothers are pretty much stuck and if they get out it would undo the whole move, but it can be done.

I think that its about new characters but Ed and Al are in it (it could take place a few years later where Ed and Al are like Hoenheim a know it all kind of person back from the other side).

Ed and Al have got their bodies back so they don't need to venture off, and if they where forgotten in that World I don't think that would be a satisfing conclusion for the Elric brothers.

Although you have an interesting thought, no it's not going to work like that. It's going to start from the very beginning of the manga and then follow the plot EXACTLY as it happened in the manga. NO DANTE. NO SHAMBALLA. None of that. In my opinion this new series will be WAAAAY better. And as we've all see (Old FMA and Ouran) BONES does an awesome job with everything they do! ^^-

thank you therealmclovingirl, i've gotten tired of setting people straight about the series, so thanks for taking care of this one, and you're right, it is an interesting concept, but there's no real market for that one, but whatever

and does anyone know if they've announced when exactly the new series will premiere? i'm just so excited i can't wait

Its just a little guessing game I thought that would be a pretty cool idea that fits in the situation so far and wouldn't contradict the story so far.

Besides the studio only anounced that their definently going to make the series when new first leacked out it was only a working idea that they may not have gone through. And that was only a few months ago, they may have got something solid by know but who knows when it will actualy be released I don't think any time soon. Well thats what I read from my recorses.

I was just setting it straight for you hatsuharu it can be pretty tiring.

P.S. I'll have u know that I did not spell Horay wrong for u'r information the word horay is from the ancient language of........ errrrm...... Spanish. Yer, which means......to cheer out load in excitement.

Oh yeah about my fan fic about the new series. If it is about new characters then the name Fullmetal Alchemist wouldn't suit it. But the name could change or the new char could so happen to be a Fullmetal Alchemist who knows.
