I like reading mangas like bleach, naruto, one piece and others. I heard that fullmetal alchemist was good, but I don't want to waste my time if it isn't that great.

omg, read it, for one thing the chapters might come out only once a month but its a great series to pick up, the series has drama, comedy and and bit of romance.
the drama is not to be missed
the comedy will make you laugh
the romance is well... a bit funny, painful in a comedy way and really not very important
but its a great series nevertheless

Take it from a fellow Bleachnerd and Narutofan, FMA is DEFINITLY worth reading. It has everything...

not reading fma would be like living under a rock this is the best manga on earth long with naruto and bleach but i think fma is tottaly the best and one message to u all ROY IS BETTER THAN SASUKE full stop.

FMA is sooo misterious. sometimes i just wish the series would end so that i can understand what the heck is going on! But other times i just wish the chapters would be released more often...
All mangas are different. Naruto and Bleach are fantastic action mangas, despite that they are a little similar. But Full Metal Alchemist is like nothing i've ever read before! It is unique!

Fullmetal Alchemist is a great story. It has quirky humor and plenty of action. It also has wonderful characters who can surprise you as the story goes on. But most importantly, the story has depth. There is a lot of meaning and growth behind it, and not in a preachy way or anything like that, but the characters deal with issues of life and death and guilt and redemption and truth in a very real, honest way. Which means I should warn you the story isn't exactly *happy*. Personally, I like the portrayal of women in this manga.

The anime has the same story as the manga for about the first half, and then diverges into an original storyline. There are not very many filler episodes. So, if you want, check out the first few episodes of the anime and see if it's your kind of thing. But I def. think the manga is worth reading, and the story is more interesting than the anime storyline.

YEP! everybody should read this awesome manga! (tee hee! I didn't really start reading it because I thought it wuold be good... I read it 'cause I saw chapter 84, had a look at it... yes, I'm an idiot... and found to my delight that this ed guy was HAWT! so there's my reason for reading

Hahaha. Yeah, it has alot of mysteries. It's brilliantly crafted. Well, it comes out once a month, but they're pretty long chapters, at least.

Actually, it's once a month BECAUSE it's long. 40 pages a chapter is more than double the average.(15)
