NO, I will just not accept this manga coming to an end! Since I'm buying the volumes I'm way behind, so I've got no idea what has happend in the latest chapters, does it seem to be in its final stage?! Cause I can't handle more endings now...

Well, the published books are pretty far behind, so I wouldn't worry about it ending yet. I don't know what you're up to in Sweden, but in the US we've got 16 volumes, which brings us up to chapter 65. In contrast, chapter 84 just came out yesterday, I think. If you do the math, that's 5 more volumes, so the series is already 21 volumes long.

As for the current storyline - it is definitely coming to a head. The purpose of the bad guy's plot has been revealed, we know who all the homunculi are, and everything is set for a final showdown. That being said...there are a lot of loose ends to be filled in!

I don't know how much longer it's going to go, but I really doubt she intends to wrap up the story in (say) 6 months. Final showdowns usually take more than 6 chapters, and we haven't even started yet. That being said, I really doubt the series would stretch to 200 chapters.

So my best answer to you is - we're past the half-way mark now.

Urgh, poor me, I'm stuck at volume 9 So, if I keep buying the volumes, I'm safe for at least 3 years or something... still, I don't want it to end

Well at least we have a number....so if that's about 15+ chapters, than in about another year it should be over.

But that will be heartbreaking. I love this series. I just saw the anime and the movie (I CRIED AND STILL CRY WHENEVER I SEE ALFONS HEIDERICH SHOT AND WHEN HE'S DEAD), and I love them.

The order, in order of favorites, is the manga, then most certainly the movie, then the anime.

nobody really wants this to end, especially me, it's my favorite, but all good things must come to an end, if it didn't it would be as annoying as Inuyasha, i really hope that FMA ends with a bang though

I dont want the manga to end so soon, but I wish it would come out twice a month at least. And I wish there would be another season of the series and movie.

My guess is that it's almost 80% over. The real villian has been revealed AND finally made his public appearance, the reason behind all the major happenings in the story has been revealed, the philosopher's stone, oh-so-mysterious-and-desirable at the beginning of the story, is now just a mundane but useful weapon; with the Elric brothers coming to know the truth about it and all that. So i think the final throw of the dice and the BIG SHOWDOWN is all that there is really left to the story.
