I felt that him choosing dark, was kinda dumb. It didn't suit his personality or character type and pissed me off so bad. I would have preferred him choosing the light, I mean yeah, dark is waaay cooler, but I don't know why but...it kinda...irked me. Anyone else get this?

yes, true that (it somewhat bothered me too as negi doesn't seem the dark type... he's just too innocent and gullible) but like rakan-san said in the chapter, negi choosing light would just be boring... and in the business world, boring doesn't sell, so negi choosing dark is the obvious way to go since it'd be more exciting that way (with the knowledge that dark magic could kill you, that adds alot of suspense)

It doesn't need to fit his personality or anything, he is just using it, it's not like he's a bad guy or something. And he already explain, I think that he is right.

I THINK IT SUITS HIM WONDERFULLY FOR A FEW REASONS.
1. HE ALWAYS FOR THE MOST PART HE ALWAYS TRIES TO FIGHT ALONE IN ORDER TO PROTECT HIS FRIENDS SO MUCH SO HE HAS TO BE REMINDED CONSTINTLY BY HIS FRIEMDS THAT THEY ARE RIGHT BEHIND HIM IT EVEN SHOWS IN CHAPTER 192. THUS IF HE CHOSE LIGHT HE WOULD TOTALY HAVE TO CHANGE HJS WAY OF LIFE.

2.HE'S ALWAYS THINKS THINGS THROUGH WHICH IN THIS WORLD IS AN EVIL TRAIT SINCE IN ORDER TO US LIGHT YOU SHOULD BE AN IDIOT

3.AND LAST HE'S BEEN TRAINED BY EVA (DARK) AND HAS NEVER REALLY BEEN AROUND NAGI (LIGHT).

well, him choosing dark over light would really giv him some extra advantages, mainly because he already knows multiple light spells...mainly his light arrows. so if u let him take in darkness he can hav an extra element up his sleeve.

I feel he made the right choose, if he would have chosen light it would have been predictable. O the good negi picked light i think if he did pick light his abilities would have been strong but predictable. I like the way they mixed things up. can't wait to see the outcome.

i like the dark negi better than the light negi cause for one he will get stronger by eva cause their now the same elemental and he will at least be cooler cause him be all innocent is kinda hard too see

Dark Magic has always had the tendency to look cooler. The spells that Eva uses (Darkness and Ice) counter that of Negi's (Light and Wind). However, the Ice spells that Eva uses (still considered as Dark Magic) look far cooler, and are much more effective upon enemies, for example, in volume 6, where Eva freezes the Giant creature-guy, and blows it up by clicking her fingers.

If negi chose the light he may never see his father ever again or his life will be ruined.
For his father ( the thousand master ) told him on book 13 to stop following his steps.
In short if negi chose the light Fate avernicus will be never beaten by negi.
