After all that has happend it is a safe bet that some one else will die. Now there could be many arguments as to who is next. I do not see tsunade dying anytime soon, naruto is not ready to be hokage, and putting someone else in the sixth spot untill naruto is ready just doesn't sound plausible. Nor do i believe any of his peers ino, chogi, shik, kiba, gara, etc. It has to be some one who is expendable to the story. What ever you may think of asuma, he pulls right out and at this point so due two others. I think the most logical next death is either Kakashi or Iruka.(I believe the character yamatoe is, unfortunantly, a subsitute for kakashi and Iruka was always on the outside of the story looking in.) My guess is it will be kakashi. He already has some inclination that naruto may be minato's son, just read the chapters about him training naruto in nature manipulation. It can be argued that kakashi saw minato as a subsitute father and would want to be the same for minato's son ,aka, naruto. I think kakashi learns the truth, from tsunade, and shields naruto from susuke's, yes susuke, blow, and dies in naruto's hands finally reveling the truth to naruto about his father. Kakashi last words to naruto are about how muck kakashi loved and admired minato and how minato would be so proud of naruto. He also apologises for not figuring it out sooner and being there for naruto when he was younger like minato was for him.

i dont see death coming from either of these guys yet. it might be too early to say at this point, these two shud be alive at least and see naruto become hokage if he ever will be. but, if one of these guys die..it wud be sad for sure.

I think some else is going to die, at the hands of susuke, at that event will trigger the finale showdown between the two, what happens next is anyone guess. I believe the character that dies is kakashi. I want to state, with the death of jaira., kakashi is my second favorite character. He will be missed.

I Really don't want Kakashi to die! I suppose he might die anyway, because he is sort of next in line for hokage, and his death could trigger something in the leaf village.

I think maybe sakura puts herself between them again. She wouldn't die, though- I think she's a bit too important to go yet.

I hope Kakashi doesn't die. I wouldn't really care if Iruka died. I think someone will make the final blow and Iruka will take the hit in Naruto's place. This is just me thinking, though I don't really think it'll happen

Let's put it this way...if Iruka dies at the hands of Pein, or even Sasuke, it'll probably be the thing that finally pushes Naruto over the edge...just like his fight with Orochimaru, just add four more tails. As for Kakashi dying, then Naruto will probably access the enough of the fox's chakra to go six tails.

I think the consense is that someone else is going to die, who it is is the question. I still believe it is kakashi.

I think the foreshadowing points a different direction. In an interview with Kishimoto, he said a "big event" was going to happen to Kakashi...and he saw the "event" as dark blue.....which I'm pretty sure means "leadership"...but its hard to know exactly what "dark blue" means.....as to the event, it could be:
1. Hokage. This was actually mentioned that Kakashi would be a good one to have as the next Hokage in line should something happen to Tsunade (Tsunade and Jaraiya were discussing this very thing)
2. Marriage. This seems less likely, since Naruto isn't a Shojo manga.
3. Family: What seems more likely is that he's already married, we never knew about it, and his wife had a baby. (Don't bash me, Kakashi FanGirls!!!! Not trying to make anyone mad!!!)

However, #1 is more likely. I could see him becoming the 6th, then stepping down when Naruto was ready...just like the 3rd did for the 4th.

Naruto already has the death of Jaraiya to push him over the edge, adding more pain to him would come more from the death of Iruka, who was the first to acknowledge him. And I think Jaraiya was more of a father figure to Naruto than Kakashi was. I'm sure if Kakashi died it would enrage Naruto...but I don't see Kakashi pushing up daisies just yet.

Personally, I think Tsunade's name is getting close to being written in the death note...so to speak (OMG!! X-over!!!)

Puddentater i think kakashi time is almost up. My bases for this thought is I think it is the one death that will break the bond between susuke and naruto, throw sakura in there as well. I really think susuke is going to kill kakashi, by accendet, because he gets in the way of a fight between naruto and susuke. I do not know why i think that, i can see that happening. I'll admit the thought of kakashi having a kid and wife and seeing naruto find out would interesting to say the least. It could very well be iruka, that does sound, more i think about it, more plausible. But after the death of jayaria its just one of them going to haft to die.

Narutoblight21 - who knows, you could be right. I admit I'm basing a bit of this off the interview with Kishimoto.....and just guessing that the event that the author said was going to happen to Kakashi was not going to be his own death.

I HOPE I'm right, but I also understand that if the story demands it, Naruto himself will buy the farm. NOT that I'm suggesting that Naruto is going to die...

I also think Sasuke's attack on Konoha will really bring out the fight in Naruto. At any rate, this was a good thread and a good question to ask. Its great getting to hear other people's ideas.
