| I think all mangaka are clever. I think it's mentioned that Shonen Jump requires its mangaka to provide the names of the characters with something that the viewers will be able to associate to, since the target audience is ages 12 and above. So Shonen Jump really encourages a lot of puns in character names. I actually see a lot of pun names in Dragon Ball. But the most  -ing of all was the underwear reference.
