I think that her overly feminine characteristics are a bit suspicious, considering the other female characters, which are mostly a bit tomboyish.

My thesis is, that she is a traitor to the Whitebeards, but changed her gender due to some method like an operation or a "Woman-Woman Fruit" or "Sexy-Sexy Fruit" so that she won't be recognized. Then she created the amazon society so that no one would consider her being a man. ^^

And she can't let anybody see the Whitebeard tatoo, because that would expose her....

Yes, you're right. I missed that. :P Then instead, she sneaked into the amazon society to maintain her cover. There are currently no signs that she was born on the island.

The same thing could be said with an opposite direction. There are NO SIGNS that Hancock WASN'T born on the island. And there is also the evidence of her being the empress, i'm not entirely sure that the islanders would install an outsider as their ruler, so its more likely that Hancock is a native of the island.
Regarding the theory that she is a transvestite. Its a very funny one, and not entirely impossible but i don't think so. OF course, i could see some bit of evidences that could support this theory like why she doesn't want anyone to see her naked (taking a bath). BUt seeing as luffy already saw her naked and didn't react, its more likely that she is 100% woman. Her devil fruit ability is probably something like turning people who are looking at her to stone, which is why luffy was immune because when she shot her Mero Mero beam, luffy had his eyes closed, just like Momonga before him. If what you said was true that BOa ate the Woman WOman fruit then she couldn't possibly have the Mero Mero ability since that would mean she ate two DFs which we all know, would lead her to explode.
My theory on what BOa has on her back is that it is something unpleasant to look at, which she probably doesn't want anyone to know because it will diminish her "beauty."

eh? really? i dont think that a shicibukai class attack like boa will not effects if you just close your eyes. it's too easy? that's funny if you can beat a shicibukai just because you closes your eyes. and i think this chapter is awesome and hilarious! lol

Since their amazon society is based on the rule of the strong, it's not impossible that she gained her influence even as an outsider. Besides that, Luffy didn't quite see her naked, her lower body was underwater and she covered her upper body with her arms, so he only really saw her back this way.

Yes, my thesis of him becoming a woman through a "Woman-Fruit" is quite weak, since he also has a ability, but in the crazy world of One Piece are certainly more than one methods to become a woman. ^^

Regarding his ability: I don't think that his ability is to turn people into stone, since the ray he shot is a "Heart-Beam", quite unfit to be a "Stone-Ray". Also, he can shoot this "Pistol Kiss", which seems to be also a part of his ability. So i think it's a pheromone-based ability, which can control humans to absolute obedience, even to turn into stone when ordered.

OR:

Everbody who sees his back becomes immune to the ability and that's why he doesn't want people to see, because he would lose his power over the people this way.

But then he wouldn't be so surprised that Luffy is immune to his power, since he is deliberatly hiding his back, so scratch that....

I didn' say anything about beating a shichibukai (Boa). I said Luffy was immune to the effects of the Mero Mero ability because he closed his eyes (at least that's the only thing i can see based on the manga). I could be wrong of course, but the three times that Boa showed her Mero Mero ability, TWO people were unaffected. Momonga (the vice-admiral) and Luffy. In the panels that were shown, Luffy has his eyes closed for the two times that he was hit by the Mero Mero ability (he was also biting his lip). Momonga stabbed himself and from my perspective also had his eyes closed when he was hit. Both of them were unaffected by the Mero Mero. SO I am assuming that the Mero Mero ability can only affect those who are looking directly towards the source of the beam (Boa's hands or Boa herself). Plus, the fact that they have similarities from the Gorgons of Mythology (I.E. Gorgon Sisters, Snakes), who can also turn people to stone if they looked eye to eye.
