Arrow The One Piece Treasure

I've taken this from my other forum...and I want to discuss what this One Piece Treasure is. These were my thoughts on it. I'm not going to apologize on the length because I thought it had some bearings.

Quote:
Last night I kept pondering about all the 6 things people said OP was and decided to dig a little deeper by looking at all the personalities of the principle characters. Maybe they can shed some light on what this elusive OP is...?? Afterall, it seems Oda-san is into symbolism...since every character was either derived from a certain famous or infamous person in history or take after a nautical term. Also, what color, smell, occupation, etc. that makes up that character. But there's got to be some kind of connection. And what is that connection...!?

The more I read the more it made me think about all the story arcs and events that were happening...and that maybe Oda-san was using these to pinpoint where or what is OP. I read everyone's post just hoping to glean something more to reveal itself. Someone said earlier that Oda-san had already planned it because of the self-said title of the story. Of course, that would be true. Someone mentioned in an earlier post that this might be something similar to National Treasure...which the characters go from one clue to another. I say that's a good theory. It's like what Robin had uncovered about the Shandra Poneglyphs...having two with one pointing to the other. And this is where I want to expand a little bit...if we were to take it the next level and think outside the box.

So let's recap on events that happened (taken from wiki).

East Blue Saga
Captain Morgan arc: Chapters 1-7: Influenced by Shanks, Luffy starts his journey to become pirate king. Soon he meets a sea monster and a pirate named Alvida but defeats them both. Then he meets a boy named Coby who wants to be a Marine. They reach a town controlled by the corrupt Marine Captain, Axe-Hand Morgan, where bounty hunter Roronoa Zoro is being held for attacking Morgan's son.
Buggy arc: Chapters 8-21: Luffy and Zoro, who has become his first crewmember, reach a town under control by the pirate Buggy and they meet a thief named Nami, who hates pirates.
Kuro arc: Chapters 22-41: After Nami forms a partnership with the two as their navigator (though she is quick to point out that she is not a crewmate), they reach an island and search for a ship to use. There, they encounter a liar named Usopp, who too has ties to Shanks' pirate crew. When a devious plot involvng Usopp's rival Butler planning to kill Usopps friend Kaya is revealed, Usopp's courage is put to the test and the Straw Hats have to fend off a pirate attack.
Don Krieg arc: Chapters 42-68: Usopp joins the crew as a sniper and the Straw Hats go to the sea restaurant, the Baratie, in search of a cook for the ship. However, the restaurant comes under attack by the powerful Don Krieg, who has returned from the Grand Line in ruins and wants to use the Baratie to go back.
Arlong arc: Chapters 69-95: With Sanji from the Baratie joining the crew and Nami stealing the ship, the Straw Hats follow after her to an island under the control of the fish-man pirate Arlong. Nami reveals that she is a member of the Arlong Pirates and simply helped the Straw Hats so she could take their gold later. But why would she follow a man like Arlong? So she can buy her village back from him.
Buggy Side story: Manga Sidestory chapters 35–75: Nami officially joins the crew. Meanwhile in the East Blue, Buggy is searching for his body parts when he meets Lady Alvida. Lady Alvida and Buggy plan to destroy Luffy. This is based off of a Chapter Title Page Mini-Arc.
Loguetown arc: Chapters 96-100: The crew heads to the last town before the entrance to the Grand Line--Loguetown, the place where Gold Roger was both born and executed. Not only will they have to deal with a powerful Marine captain, but also returning enemies looking for revenge. There Luffy receives help from an unlikely person.

Baroque Works Saga
Reverse Mountain arc: Chapters 101-105: The Strawhat crew is at the gate to the Grand Line; known as the Twin Capes island. But they encounter an obstacle as soon as they get in--a giant whale that swallows the entire ship.
Whiskey Peak arc: Chapters 106-114: Led by the mysterious Mr. 9 and Ms. Wednesday, the Straw Hats go to Whiskey Peak, where the townspeople immediately start a party to celebrate their arrival. But there is more to this town than there appears.
Coby/Helmeppo Side story: Manga Sidestory chapters 83–119: The crew escapes from Whiskey Peak and they have a mission to deliver Princess Vivi to Alabasta and to stop Sir Crocodile. Meanwhile in the East Blue, Coby and Helmeppo get selected by Vice Admiral Garp to go to the Marine Headquarters. This is based off of a Chapter Title Page Mini-Arc.
Little Garden arc: Chapters 115-129: The crew lands on Little Garden, a huge island that is still stuck in the prehistoric era. However, there are more than dinosaurs on this island, as they find when they encounter two giants that have been dueling for over 100 years and four high-ranking Baroque Works members.
Drum Island arc: Chapters 130-154: When Nami catches an illness that will prove fatal if it remains untreated, the crew is forced to stop at Drum Island, a kingless country that is trying to establish a new government. As they find out, due to the actions of the previous king, Wapol, there is only one doctor left--a "witch" named Dr. Kureha who lives at the top of a mountain. Luffy and Sanji must journey up the mountain, but meanwhile the exiled King Wapol returns to reclaim his country. Here, they meet Tony Tony Chopper, the reindeer doctor who helped cure their illness and fights with them against Wapol and his men.
Alabasta arc: Chapters 155-216: The Straw Hats, with Kureha's assistant Tony Tony Chopper as a new addition, and Vivi finally arrive at Alabasta, which is on the verge of civil war. Vivi must reach the rebel army and tell them the real cause behind the war, but Crocodile, aka Mr. 0, leader of Baroque Works and one of the Shichibukai, won't just stand by and watch.

Skypiea Saga
Jaya arc: Chapters 217-236: When a ship inexplicably falls from the sky and the Log Pose starts pointing up, they go to the island of Jaya for information on "Sky Island". There, they encounter Bellamy, a pirate who is heralding a "New Age" where pirates don't pursue dreams, the mysterious and powerful Blackbeard Pirates, and a man named Monteblanc Cricket.
Skypiea arc: Chapters 237-302: Riding the Knock-Up Stream, the crew finds themselves in the "White Sea", a sea in the sky. However, things aren't as peaceful as they seem, as there is a war between the Sky People and the natives who originally inhabited the Upper Yard, where the cruel "god" Enel makes his home.

CP9 Saga
Davy Back Fight arc: Chapters 303-321: After the crew escapes from the marine base, they encounter Foxy, a pirate who challenges them to a "Davy Back Fight", a series of games where the winner takes crewmates from the loser. If Luffy loses, he loses his crew.
Water 7 arc: Chapters 322-374: In search of a shipwright to join the crew and repair the Going Merry, they land at the thriving metropolis of Water 7. When the crew learns they must get a new ship, Usopp is unable to accept the decision and leaves after fighting with Luffy over the ship. Not only that, but the Straw Hats are framed for the attempted assassination of Water 7's mayor and president of the Galley-La shipbuilding company, Iceburg, and discover that Robin is working with the mysterious organization behind the attack.
Enies Lobby arc: Chapters 375-430: The Straw Hats, Franky Family, and Galley-La team up to rescue Nico Robin and Franky. To do this, they attack Enies Lobby, a government stronghold where CP9 is based, declaring war on the World Government.
Post-Enies Lobby arc: Chapters 431-441: The Straw Hat Pirates take a break in Water Seven to recuperate after the events at Enies Lobby and the loss of the Going Merry. Amidst their long deserved break, an important figure from Luffy's past appears and makes surprising revelations. Meanwhile on Banaro Island, Ace finally confronts Blackbeard. The Straw Hats get a new ship, the Thousand Sunny, from their newly recruited member, Franky and the resting member that left the crew returns after a sentimental apology.

Current Saga
Thriller Bark arc: Chapters 442-current: The Straw Hats sail into the Florian Triangle, known as the Devil's Sea, where they encounter a living skeleton, named Brook, who leads them to a spooky island/pirate ship where Chopper meets a former doctor who's now reviving the dead. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji and Robin have their shadows stolen by a Shichibukai named Gecko Moria, who is creating a zombie army in order to become Pirate King.

So...what's the point, you asked?? The point is that the answer or clue may be derived from these events...on what this OP should or should not be. We all know that the golden age of piracy was spurred on by the very last words of Roger,"...my treasure..." (or how the characters had pegged it as OP). Inspired by Shanks, Luffy goes off on his adventures with a promise to be the next Pirate King...and picks up along the way interesting people to make up his nakama. But in those episodes, he's always meeting up with resistence from enemies. Now...we understand that most pirates have aspirations to become the next pirate king. I say most because there are some who don't seem to be in a hurry to pursue this goal.

Now...here's where I'm going to deviate a little. I'm probably going to be ridiculed for saying this...but so what!!! These are my thoughts...and I expect people to refute this logic anyway.

Have you read Cross Epoch...?? It's a short story that Oda-san collaborated with Toriyama-san. Why...?? We know that Oda-san is influenced by Toriyama-san's work...especially Dragon Ball series (at least that's what I read somewhere...can't remember where, though). Now, I've never read DB so I'm "winging it". First off, I have to assume that the characters that are paired off are kind of similar to each other...or maybe quite the opposite. If you look closely, the events are parallel to the events that's happening with OP world. See the opening about how a guy got to be king, train similar to seatrain at Water 7, dark night sky may depict the Blank Century, etc. Now, why would Oda-san come up with this short story...?? Is he trying to point out what OP is or not?? Is he saying...here's more clues for you to figure out?? Or use this clue to find the hidden OP...?? Seems to me he's toying with us. Yes, this could be farfecth...but what if it isn't? How does DB open up?? What happened in the story...?? What was the main character like?? How did the story end??

Here's the plot of DB story (taken from wiki):
Simple, monkey-tailed Saiyan boy from outer-space Son Goku goes on a life-long adventure beginning with a quest for the seven titular Dragon Balls, befriends many different martial artists and faces various villains, goes through many rigorous martial arts training regiments and educational programs, defeats a series of increasingly powerful martial artists, dies and comes back to life several times, and becomes the top martial arts superhero in the Dragon Ball universe.

Now, let me change a few words...

Here's the plot of OP story:
Monkey D Luffy from a small village goes on a life-long adventure beginning with picking up 7 friends (Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Sanji, Chopper, Robin and Franky), befriends many different pirates and faced various villians, goes through many rigorous training through different events, defeats a series of increasingly powerful DF users, has been defeated a couple of times but comes back to fight again to eventually win. Becomes the next Pirate King...?? (story hasn't ended yet)

So, maybe if we look at the events that happened in DB, we could find that elusive OP somewhere in Luffy's world. And just maybe we might be enlightened to what kind of an island Raftel is like...?? Since a majority of you said the answers lies within it.

Well, what do you think...?? And go easy on me...ok?
