Don't Reindeer have a relatively short lifespan...(i haven't found an exact age yet but i'm guessing they'd be like dogs 7-1)
During the equivalent historical age as what OP is set in the average lifespan of humans was much shorter than today.
He does a better job than most looking after himself but the reindeer in him might result in an earlier demise due to old age than the rest of the crew.

First, this IS AN ANIME, and ITS ONE PIECE, the logic we have and science are not the same as in animes, especially one piece that breaks a lot of laws od science.

Second, Chopper is originally a reindeer, but can change from human and any where in between to reindeer, so his normal lifespan varies all the time. Example, Chopper stays in his form that is the half way point to human and reindeer.

Third, One piec is durin g the 1520's about, read the chapter on Calgara and Nolen, and Vegapunk , a briliant scientist, created technology the goes 500 years ahead of thier time, as quoted by Duma or Kuma. Vegapunk probably created different medicines and other medical equipment that we have today. In the G-8 Navarone filler, you see that they have ER's and and equipmeny that surgens use.

true(in our cozy little corner of reality anyway), not necessarily true(although i'll admit fewer characters have been shown killed than I would've expected), apparently true but Manga have been known to jump time and Chopper just seems odd since he is supposed to be fifteen but looks and acts like he's 10.
