|  Fruit Faqs If there is only one type of each fruit, how does everyone know what they will do or that such a fruit even exists? Sanji knew of Invisible fruit or did he just wish there was one and it turned out there was one. Can you get more fruit? Like use corpse of DF user to grow a replacement since the one fruit is now gone. |

  | Oda has stated in a recent SBS that their is a book somewhere on the grand line that lists all the devil fruits.

| What about getting the fruit back? Is there a way or is that it? If there is a book like that then wouldn't someone have had to have used the fruit atleast once before in order to know what it did? Given the limited number of fruits available wouldn't they all have been gone by the start of the story? Can i take a bite and get the power or do you have to eat the whole thing? I don't like the peels  Can you split up the fruit in any way? Would the first to eat their part get the powers at the rest get zip? |

| SBS stands for Shitsumon o Boshu Suru which translated into english means I'm Taking Questions. You only need one bite to gain the powers, but after the first bite the fruit becomes a regular old nasty tasting fruit and doesn't give any powers. As far as getting the fruit back goes I don't think they regrow out of the body because then Brook would have been able to get the fruit he ate back. And as far as telling what they do without eating them, Spandem at one point mentioned that the devil fruits have some type of aura around them that helps in identifying powers, but some have unknown auras. Or, I don't know if he'll use it but in one of the pilots for One Piece Oda wrote that the devil fruit trees only have the fruits ripen (and become able to give powers) every so many years I think it was 50 (but I could be wrong) and maybe that's why people know which fruit does what.
