For so long it was about little random stories, parties, her debt, and helping other people inbetween. We learned a little about everyone. Most of it was playful and Haruhi was blunt and tomboyish with cute moments.

Now it's like suddenly everyone is in love with her and it's all about who she will end up with and Tamaki's mom. Haruhi's character, to me, has changed a lot in a short amount of time.
I still love the series, and I'm gladit has a basic story plot to follow now, but I fear sometimes it has lost is humorous ways and it's whole debt idea that is started with in the first place.

Any thoughts?

I love the manga so much coz it made me cheer up at the moment of my depression...gggggrrrr . ..
I love comedy . . . but i easily get bored whenever it's all just corny comedy with no moral in the story at all . . . But with Ouran, all the elements that i want is in it . . .

It made my heart laugh and at the same time, it made it at ease . . .

the story has gotten really better . . .

as for me, it's just right that haruhi would show more of her feminine side since she's in her teenager years and it's no wonder that tamaki and the rest would fall for her because they have known each other for almost a year.

i think the humorous parts will still be in the story. maybe it will be shown in their love story - like hikaru or tamaki getting jealous, reactions of haruhi, etc...

i am thankful cause the story had a little twist than before..i like the funny parts but i want to feel more the story, and it has sense, i just hate shoujo mangas who make it very long before giving a little twist to the story, i like ouran more cause the story is showing more.

i luv the story just as it is...whether the manga or the anime, both are just too good for me...itz funny, a bit of heart throbbing, romance n owh god itz just too good rely...

yeah, it went from most comedy in the manga and little romance to more romance incident and bit less comedy.

I agree, the story has really changed now. Also, am I the only who thinks that the style of drawing has changed along the way too? it just looks different to me than it did in the first couple of volumes. Though, I guess it's just cause she got used to drawing the characters.
I preferred Haruhi when she was dense and tomboyish, but now she's blushing all the time etc. It's so un-haruhi-ish [Not even close to being a word but...]
I guess it's just plot-convenient though.
They really need to get the next chapter out! I wanna know what she says to Hikaru!

i totally agree!!! I love this manga the way it is and its making a lot more sense than before!

Whee~ I don't think the story really dramatically changed, persay...it kinda slowly built up to this part! But I agree with those who are welcoming it! And the humor is definitely not getting sapped away!

Besides, Haruhi is still her tomboyish self and whatnot; she has just decided to try her best and change her outlook on life for the sake of her goal. To me, that makes her all the more admirable! ^_^ Why does everyone have to be so down on her now, and blame it on her in-love state? XD

I think it's gone from complete comedy and basically introducing the characters to romance between the main ones. The next chap better come out soon :K
