Default too late for SD2

though i would not mind a sequel, but i do think SD is past its prime. those shorts would just look ridiculous now.

and i think it's a great ploy by the mangaka to leave the series as it is. it leaves much to the imagination. we'll never know what happened next; but we sure can speculate. (just my 2 cents...)

for me Slam Dunk is a quintessential masterpiece-it captured the whole heart of the sport. not even the americans were able to nail it down like inoue did.

ike ike shohoku!

lol...I don't think the shorts is a big factor as long as you remember the time the manga is taken place.
I definitely agree that Inoue did a much better job illustrating and introducing the sport to the audience than alot of American advertising(etc...) but the series might backfire if a few can't stand how slow the pace of the game. Real life, the game is pretty fast pace and game ends before you know it...

Default No Slam Dunk 2

The series is too old to pick up where it leaves off. But for die hard fans, there is a live action Mandarin film that was inspired by this manga called Kung Fu Dunk.

I doubt there will be a sequel to SD but I do really wish for a continuation of the anime series. It cut off before they went into the actual competition.

I loved Slam Dunk, its such a classic. A follow up on Sakuragi and co from where it ended or even a little before for more in depth story since it did rush at the end. As long as it is those five though bc with three of the members gone it would feel empty. The dynamic between them as it is is good, I would not be interested in a sequel after they graduated. I guess it would make a short sequel since there isn't much time til Gori, Mit-chi and Ryo-chi graduate?

oh yeah and maybe show a different side of Rukawa if they show them in the future? I felt he was too arrogant so I didn't like him much. Didn't connect well w him.
