| Manga Fox: Tokyo Crazy Paradise Vol.11 Ch.059 Online Manga Scans Um, does anyone know what religious practice this refers too? Is it like qi gong or something? I'm vaguely aware that every time someone is sick in a manga, this is the funny way of showing how you care. I've only seen it like three times, and I seriously want to do it for halloween just because SHE'S WEARING A RING OF LIT CANDLES AROUND HER HEAD, and when else am I gonna get the chance? But... uh... I don't even know what the ki refers to exactly, and I don't want to offend anyone. I've heard of chi, and I've heard of Hindu and Buddhist chakras, but please enlighten me on this. It sounds closest to qi, so I'm thinking it's some kind of life energy. There must be some Buddhists or practioners of whatever religion it comes from... Basically does anyone have detailed info on this religious theory or practice?

| Oh whatever. I looked it up on wiki. It's definitely qi gong. But I just can't find a reference to the candles on the head. So please, if anyone knows anything...

| The ring of candles is normally worn when cursing someone or dowsing. Like if you take a voo doo doll and when you nail it to a tree to curse some one you where that as well. I've seen it in several anime... actule it might be a sort of thing like leading the dead to you to use their power since in Ranma 1/2 that one dude uses the candles to help a spiret return home... I hope this helps since it's all spectulations >< |
