Yuuko says that while normally becoming a vampire makes one age more slowly, but Fay's life-span won't be affected really because it was already so long due to his magic. However, as you know, if Kurotan dies and Fay hasn't recovered his eye, Fay will die too (since Kurotan is his 'bait'). She also says there that if Fay gets his eye back, he'll recover his magic, no longer be a vampire, and won't be dependent on Kurotan.

That doesn't sound correct because while there will be differences in translation, the entire meaning shouldn't be changed. I'll have to look at the volume in the bookstore and see. I also have a super-tsubasa-fan friend who I'll consult.

I don't think he says that out of knowing Yuuko is lying, I think he says that because he knows the chances of getting his eye back are low. It's sort of like he's saying Yuuko is giving them false hope, in which she replies is crueler than saying there is no chance at all.
Which is very true.
Anyway, if Fay gets his eye back, he won't be a vampire anymore. End of story. I'm not sure if he'll get all of his magic back, but even if he doesn't I'm sure it'll build back up over time.

i think that evry thing that happened was probably "necessary" for evry one to stay together.
since its clamp, maybe every thing has to contribute to a good ending or sth even if what happened was bad

This is an excellent example of being at the mercy of the translator. I checked this point out in a totally obsessive way after one translation had Yuuko saying that Fai was already many times Kurogane's age; and another saying Fai had lived much longer than Kurogane. (You understand that these are very different numbers of years.)
The crux of the matter was the same in all translations, I suppose, in that Vampires blood increases the life expectancy (slows aging) and as Fai was such a cute and powerful magician (OK, a bit of my spin in there) that the increase in his life expectancy would not be significant (in a statistically significant way).

Just thought you still might not have 'got' my point. Transalations vary - Yes, Seeliespright, they should not vary so much as to alter the story, but they do when you become involved enough for the minor points or nuances to be important.

Yuuko cannot lie. No more than she can give you something for free. Kurogane says to Yuuko 'You were testing me' - when she tells him that if Fai's eye is recovered then Fai will no longer be dependent on Kurogane. I like to read this as Kurogane saying 'You wanted to know just how much I loved him'.

isn't when u age slowly mean u get older slowly? which means u live longer?
so it wouldn't really make a difference since fai already has magic so he can live longer, so i think she means he'll still have a long life?

Wait a minute, Its said that if Fai gets his eye back he'll no longer need Kuroganes blood and would be able to surpress it! But that was said in book 17 where he had his other eye along with the deal, now he has no magic since he gave it away for Kuroganes artifical arm and now if he somehow gets his eye back from Syaoran--even though it'll be painful--he still won't be able to supress the vampire blood cuz if he could he would have in the beginning.

So if he could come up with a deal that'll get Yuko to hand over his other magic he'll be just fine~ personally though I really don't think they'll live long enough to see through the end of the FWR fight. I think they'll die (even though I don't what it to happen) in the midst of battle. but theres been--I guess--a lot of debate weither Kurogane will bring Fai along to his home, I think he will because he said clearly in book 18 'I can make more than one promise' and to me I think he will definatly protect Fai for as long as he lives! (fangirl moment)
